So yeah, as Still Life kinda sorta sucked me in, I'm looking for more games like that. Detective games, as I've not played them that much. Give me suggestions, and I'll random.org one poster to get Hamilton's Great Adventure on steam. It's a gift, not a key. And it needs steam, obviously.

Anyway, if you don't want to be in the draw, do tell it in your post. Suggest away.

I've played LA Noire, so don't suggest that.
Not in, but your best best is probably the Tex Murphy series if you want a real detective feel, and not just a standard adventure game where you're a detective. The Last Express is also good, you don't play a detective, but it kinda has that investigationy feel.
Not in. The Raven – Legacy of a Master Thief - a new adventure in three episodes, the last of which will be released in a month. Played a bit of the first episode and it is shaping up to be a great game.
Not in, but some suggestions. I can only presume that you're aware that Still Life is a sequel to Post Mortem but if you're not - well, it is and you may wanna check that one out.

Jack Orlando is also an actual detective game (yup, with trench coat, hat and all that) but, well, read the reviews to get an impression if you don't know it yet. Personally I played the German and Polish versions and enjoyed it, but apparently many people complain about the bad voice acting in the English version which I haven't tried yet, the game may be much worse in that one.

Gabriel Knight is also pretty awesome. The hero is actually just doing research for his book but he's practically doing detective's work. The game is ridiculously hard at times but the plot and the voice acting are totally worth it (it has Tim Curry, Mark Hamill and that chick from King of Queens in it! :D), IMHO, even if you'll need to look into an FAQ at one point or another. I also enjoyed the second one although the live action stuff makes it appear pretty trashy. Haven't tried the third one yet.

Yup, you should just give Gazoinks a game instead of the draw and be done with it. Won't get a better recommendation in what you're looking for.

Not in for the draw, by the way-

Only detective game I'm really familiar with, Deja Vu.
Not in but +1 .

Can't help with the request as I don't play detective games that much, but I like the Gabriel Knight games.
I don't know if you own a PS3 but Murdered: Soul Suspects looks pretty interesting. It's about a (dead) detective trying to solve his own murder by doing ghost thingy to stuff/people.

Also if you own a NDS go get Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective that came earlier than Soul Suspects.
I am not in, because Hamilton doesnt look liek a game i would play, and it would be stupid to "steal" it away form someone who might really enjoy it, but here are my two cents:

Tex Murphy series is an obvious answer. I only played through one of them and that was long ago, but it was really fun and engaging.

Gabriel Knight i would recommend too. I must say that i didnt play it very far, but the one or two hours i played it, it felt like a supernatural mystery thriller. Think "Supernatural" or "Buffy", but as an investigation.
The Phoenix Wright games are the best. You are a defense lawyer defending clients, by investigating the details of the case and slowly unraveling the story. I especially enjoy cross-examining the witnesses, as they have a lot of character to them. You can get the first three games on your Iphone, if I remember rightly.

Snatcher is also good, if you can obtain a Sega CD. There is a cyberpunk atmosphere to it, and the main antagonists are basically T-800s. Quite nice, and quite eloquent for one of Hideo Kojima's works.

Journeyman Project: Buried in Time on gog. Best.
It's been suggested before, but Under a Killing Moon from the Tex Murphy series is a great choice. Please consider it!
