I'm looking for cookie recipes and I wanted to make a little giveaway for some time, so I decided to combine it.

- I'll give away three $5,99 GOG-Games.
- Only one game per person and the winner can choose the game they want.

- The receipt must be in english or german.
- It must use the metric system. So no foot of cheese or something like that.

Increasing you chance to win:
- Try to avoid strange (german point of view) ingredients.
- I like it when the animals are dead when I eat them.
- The receipt shouldn't be too complicated.
- Since Christmas will be over soon, try to avoid receipts that tastes like gingerbread.

Post your receipt (or the link) till 28.12.2014, 23:59h UTC +1. I'll try to choose the winners on monday.
Not in, but:

(no actual measurements as I always do it by how the dough is).

one part butter to two parts sugar.

mash together (never use a blender)

add a couple of soup-spoons of treacle (yes, actual treacle - not syrup - treacle as in "molasses")

mix by hand.

when mixed begin adding flour a few "floofs" at a time so it mixes evenly until you have something sticky enough to have difficulty getting off your hands if you touch it, but easy enough to roll into a ball.

also add a tiny amount of baking powder during that time (about a quarter teaspoon should do - but more if you have a massive load - just be frugal on your measures - less is better here).

add any dried fruit / spices or chocolate you desire.

now make tiny little balls - the kind Licurg has.

splat those little bollocks onto a sheet of baking paper on a tray (of whatever sort you may have) that is pre-greased with more butter.

shove in a fucking hot oven (gas mark 7 does me fine - ie the top 3rd of whatever your oven does).

bake until you can smell them in the next room rather well. cool a little.

EAT!

failiure is expected until the third try so make more dough than you need and experiment with baking times in secondary batches.

HAPPY COOKIES!
Edit: also, I need a recipe for Liebkuchen - if anyone has a good one, Pm it, TA! ;)
Edit2: also, that metric as it gets im afraid - but you will get a better quality cookie!

Not entering (I have too many games :) ) but my favorite holiday recipe are chocolate coconut pecan cookies. http://www.foodgeeks.com/recipes/laura-bushs-cowboy-cookies-20407?servings=3&ing_meas=metric&ing_form=decimal for metric, http://www.washingtonpost.com/pb/recipes/laura-bushs-cowboy-cookies/7202/ for original

They're seriously over the top, which makes them perfect for holidays. It doesn't take a big batch for people to feel like they had a great dessert.

EDIT: Here in the US an easy holiday dessert is also to add peppermint chunks to regular recipes. Peppermint brownies, peppermint chocolate chip cookies, etc.

SHIT, I wish my mom played games, she's got a million great recipes. Well, they're all really complicated and I don't need to win anything anyway, but a big plus for the offer. :D

Peppermint candies or canes smashed into pieces. I put them in a plastic ziploc bag and bang with a ladle or a meat tenderizing hammer. It's great stress relief at the busiest time of year, and then it makes desserts more delicious! We can get them pre-crushed sometimes but most people just smash their own.

Gilozard: Peppermint candies or canes smashed into pieces. I
gotcha - if you can get kendall mint-cake then, give that a go - its basically raw sugar and peppermint essence mixed, so turn to a toffee kinda thing when baked (or should do - otherwise it aint the real deal). its a little like a scots thing called "tablet" - which is halfway between that and fudge,

edit: actual fudge... not that fondant stuff that gets called fudge in the states (for others reading with any confusion).

I dont have a cookie recipe, but I do have a brownie/fudge recipe.. will that suffice?

Mix 1 can of sweetend condensed milk (~400g) with 200g of nutella. Put into 8x8x2 inch square baking pan. Bake for 20-30mins at 180degrees, depending on whether you like them stickier or dryer. Feel free to add nuts, choc chips etc :)
I am making Polvorones (Mexican Wedding cookies) tonight. I highly recommend them :D

I'm in. Thank you & Merry Christmas! :D
Not in but thank you for the GA!!!! +1!!

I am not very good at making homemade cookies. I normally follow the package or at the very least drive to the store and point at the yummy ones. I am sorry I am not help here =) Thank you again!!
I am in, please.

Spicy Chocolate Coffee Cookies

Ingredients:
240 mL unsweetened cocoa powder
360 mL granulated sugar
120 mL vegetable oil
7.5 mL instant coffee granules (not coffee grounds)
5 mL ground cinnamon
.5 mL teaspoon cayenne pepper
10 mL baking powder
5 mL salt
15 mL vanilla extract
4 eggs
480 mL all purpose flour
360 mL powdered sugar

Directions:
Using an electric mixer, beat the cocoa powder, sugar, oil, instant coffee granules, cinnamon, cayenne, baking powder, and salt together until well combined.

Beat in the vanilla and eggs, then scrape the bowl. Slowly add in the flour. The dough will look like brownie batter. Refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm enough to roll by hand.

Preheat the oven to 175 degrees C and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Roll the dough into 2.5 cm balls, then place each ball in a bowl of powdered sugar and coat thoroughly, before placing on a baking sheet. Space the ball at least 7.5 cm apart.

Bake for 10-12 minutes. Cool completely on the baking sheets before moving.
Not in, but thanks for the giveaway.

Take your average oatmeal cookie recipe and turn into even more of an awesome treat:

Omit the raisins.
Add: white chocolate chips (not too many), chopped dried cranberries, and coconut.

Mix and bake as normal.
Hi!

A very nice GiveAway, +1 for that and for the generosity; the rest of us, start calling you mom's/grand's/girlfriends!! :D

I have a easy brownie recipe, it is not a cookie but is very Christmassy:

- 175 gr of dark chocolate. Not milked. The darker and pure he chocolate, the better.
- 175 gr of sugar.
- 175 gr of butter.
- 4 eggs.
- 5 flour spoons.
- 1 baking mold/plat, or something where to put into oven.

1. Start setting up the oven at 180 Celsius.
2. Beat the sugar with the eggs. You should know it is ready cause the mix become soft. The more you beat it, the more soft will result the brownies.
3. While you beat, start melting the butter and the chocolate, use a low flame for it.
4. When done with the beat, mix the results from points 2 and 3. Is important to notice i say mix, not beat. Finally, mix the flour. Again, and sorry for repeat, don't beat at this point or the brownies will result like a bread.
5. Put the final result in the mold/plate you choose. If it is a plate, you could cut the brownie into pieces once is done, or in a baking mold case you have one.
IMPORTANT: If the plate you choose does not prevent the cakes to stick at, you should prepare it with butter and flour to avoid the mix stick at the plate.
6. Place it in the oven. According how strong is you home's oven, start checking it at 30 minutes of cook. You can know it is done if you insert a knife into the brownie and when pulled back, it is clean. When done, you may let it rest for 10 minutes in the oven if it is not dark enough, and 10 minutes outside the oven and is done!

Why is it easy? Because can be done in less than 1:20 hours: 30 minutes mixing, 40 hour or less cooking!

If you want to get more into new flavors, you can try to bake a rice cake! Easier than brownies since all ingredients should be already in your home. You will need:

- 1/2 cup of coked rice. It can be a old rice you left into your fridge, but is better to make a new one just with salt.
- 2 eggs.
- 1/2 flour cup.
- 1 little milted butter/oil spoon.
- Sugar at taste. 1 spoon should be enough.

1. Start setting up the oven at 180 Celsius.
2. In a bowl, put the rice and splash it with a spoon.
3. Add the eggs and start beating it.
4. While beating, add the sugar and keep the beat until the sugar lost his form and is totally mixed. The more you beat, the better and softer will result the cake.
5. Start mixing with the flour, just mix, don't beat unless the sugar hasn't lost his form. In that case you should keep beating. You will know the mix is done when the flour have totally mix.
6. Cook for about 50~60 minutes, same trick with the knife, let it rest in the oven 10 minutes after shutting it down, then 20 in the outside and try it while still hot! Will be crunchy!

Hopes you try at least the brownies, will notice it is softer than most ones hahaha. Bon appetit!

About the games, i am in :D
I remember liking my mom's oatmeal scotchies, but it's been years since I've had any.

Wasn't anything fancy, just the recipe on the package of the nestle tollhouse butterscotch morsels

sooooo just googling it should turn it up
http://www.food.com/recipe/nestle-oatmeal-scotchies-20376?mode=metric&scaleto=4.0&st=null

hey there was even a button to convert the measurements to metric though it looks like they need rounding off a bit

I'm in (if you don't mind such a relatively low effort entry lol) Thanks for the giveaway.
