So i just started my free trial of Netflix and the problem with it is that it is basically a giant wall of content and I have no idea what to watch so once again I am going to you guys. so here is what I like before you ask

tv:
sitcoms
crime dramas
sci-fi and fantasy

movies:
scifi
fantasy
comedy
thriller
action
some documentary's as long as they are not too preachy or pretentious

that's a basic list, but I am pretty much open to almost anything. The only thing I would really say no too is horror because I just don't do horror very well. Some zombies maybe ok because they are so overdone at this point it kinda numbs out the scary aspect.

Also keep in mind I live in Canada so what I have available is totally different to what other places have. I heard that the difference between Canadian and American Netflix are pretty different because they get a lot more.

No, they're selection sucks regardless of where you live. :P

We've seen a few eps of Lilly Hammer - fish out of water thing where a member of the Sopranos (Gus Van Zant) is relocated to the Norwegian town of Lillehammer because they have the Winter Olympics there in the 90s and it looked nice
It's pretty good...

lol I'll take your word for it. My brother did that thing where he could have American netflix by changing something on his PS3 or whatever but then Netflix one day had none of that and he went to Canadian and he said American Netflix is better so that is what I am basing it on so I don't know. :D

sucks out loud, in stereo [where available]

but yeah they got Firefly though. I used to think that it was a pretty faggy show, then I watched it and cried out loud, "if this is gay then where can I find me a membership form to join!? HELLO!"

I heard about Firefly, but I have to ask did they actually resolve what story they could before it got cancelled or did the axe drop in the middle of a big plotline because I see no point in watching it if that was the case.

evilnancyreagan: They did Serenity and it was glorious.

I actually watched Serenity before I actually watched the series and I was so impressed with the movie that I watched the entire series and proceeded to watch Serenity again.
It says it is not availble at this time or something this is what it said.

"Oops! This title is unavailable at the moment; there might be a technical glitch, or we may have rotated it out of our entertainment catalog.

Try searching for your title again; if you find it and are still not able to play it, please contact customer service."

Maybe this is some nice way of saying haha you don't live in the right region or something.

Well, I don't know how much of this is available in Canada, but Farscape, Eureka and Poirot are things that are probably there and definitely worth watching if you can get them.

Hatfields & Mccoys. An entertaining TV series that shows us what can happen when people don't forgive and move on... It's a true story

I actually saw the first part of that when I was at my uncles and it was pretty good. The problem is it is unavailble to stream here.

Farscape is definitely worth a watch, one of the things I hate about Netflix is that even in the US the selection is appallingly bad.
