Rebellion Games 60% off this weekend!

Generals! Soldiers! Warriors! We need your services--and time is precious, so I shall be brief: There's a rebellion going on and casualties have been grim--more than half, in fact. 60% off, I'd say. We need you lead our troops and fight--fight to save us all! What role will you take?

An Evil Genius is needed to establish a base, defend it against all kinds of worthless nogoodniks, and help conquer the world. If that's not your style, perhaps you'd like to establish yourself as a of the [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/lords_of_the_realm_3]Realm, using your strategic and tactical knowhow to crush your opponents and bring the rule of law to the land--your law. You may even have dark powers whispered of only in the shadows, and learn to be a [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/empire_earth_2_gold]Earth Extend your power to control every inch of the ground, for once you've mastered [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/ground_control_expansion]Ground , you will find yourself truly feared. The rebellion may not be over, though--watch out for a [url=http://www.gog.com/gamecard/sniper_elite_berlin_1945]Sniper Elite who will try and gun you down, and punish those last few dissenters like Judge Dredd.

Finally, once you've crushed the world under your heel? Kick back and enjoy a fun game of pinball. Being a world emperor isn't all work. ;)

And, in case you've missed it, here's what's new. Check out our weekly video about GOG.com's releases and promos and, please be sure to subscribe, like, share, tweet, or plus one our videos if you like 'em. :)

TheEnigmaticT: "This Week"
Balls? The hint is balls? Could it be we need balls of steel to play it?

Profanity: Heard so much praise for Evil Genius over the years, might as well grab it.

Anything else noteworthy?
Ground Control is a very solid and popular series for RTS. The first game has pre-battle army builds that you select and then only have those limited units in battle, so you have to operate tactically to maximise your units potential as you won't get any more (though you can stagger how they come onto the battlefield with transports).

Graphically it has aged poorly.

The second Ground Control shifts to giving you limited supply points so you can always bring in reinforcesments to battle - but your force is limited by how much you kill and how many control points you have. It also adds a second alien race which allows you to merge and split its troops - you have to micro these as the merged forms give some bonuses whilst the split have others - using both forms is important (sadly whilst the game itself as 3 factions only 2 are playable - the 3rd human faction is unplayable in any form as they never managed to balance it for play - however there are enabling mods out there).

Ground Control 2 would be well worth picking up if you like RTS Games and don't mind not having base building - the first game is also solid in terms of gameplay, just not so much its visuals.

I'm tempted by Lord of the Realm. How has it withstood the ravages of time? Does it still hold up?

(I never played it back in the day, by the way)
Dear People Who Haven't Bought Evil Genius Yet,

as far as i'm concerned, the pleasure and fun are intact compared to the old days i heavily played Lords of the Realms 2. Plus it will run even on small net books

the only drawback i found was that the Pc version was visually less appealing than the AMIGA version (the one i discovered the game with)
