Trilarion: Another thread full of the very same speculations as last time.
I think game expansions were abducted by Aliens.

Now you have something new . :P
avatar
Fred_DM: maybe EA wanted the expansions to be sold separately on GoG at $5.99 each, and GoG said 'no'?
This, or legal stuff or EA wants to release "complete packs" as Origin exclusive.
I think GOG is just withholding the expansions for the lulz.

:D I accept this as the most likely explanation.

So in order to get the expansions we have to assemble some artefacts, build some device and turn it on?
We should call Fox Mulder :P

SimonG: You and me both, but you know how bitchy gamers are today. If GOG would raise the prices to $9.99 there would be one shitstorm here. People even complain about sales only having 30% for $6 games ...
ya, i hear you.
avatar
Fred_DM: however, i would be willing to pay full price, $9.99 if need be, for complete editions. just saying... there is incentive there...
This, when we figure out what's going on. Or sell the expansions at a new price point of $2.99, lol. :P But really, $9.99 just makes more sense for most of the games.

"So, why, again, did you start that forest fire?"
"For the lulz."
"It checks out, sir."

Nabuchodonozor: Yes because GOG.com has a long history of forgetting about games, not releasing bonus content, not adding bonus content when they can, and generally not caring about the releases once they go live. Guys seriously?

Yup :)
GOG has some possibility to add EA expansion or this EA's source is not so good?
Populous and Dungeon Keeper also lack the expansions. Just my two cents...
And now the reason has been highlighted in this thread.

Which? About EA releasing complete classic stuff on Origin later (which may be the reason for the insane EULA they offer here)?

If so, I'd say their marketing strategy is pretty insane.

While releasing Syndicate here is very good marketing move - knowing they are going to release new Syndicate game.

Eh?

SimonG: I would also guess that it was a f*ck up on GOGs part. They probably only had games in the original agreement and forgot about the exp, or thought they were included.

Well, they aren't perfect. And certainly not as professional (for better and worse) as EA
