Tormentfan: It's not Facebook you know.. no-one cares.
You mean people care about facebook? O_o

Tormentfan: It absolutely amazes me than in this day idiots can still use the word incorrectly.

Tormentfan: you're an idiot if you think your accomplishing something
Something makes me think you're trolling.
I have not played the game yet, but judging by the praise it gets, all I can say is: Don't judge a book by it's cover, or more accurately the material it covers.

People who find LSL offensive and feel *that* strongly about it really do exist! It's awesome and hilarious.

It's not really awesome and hilarious. I can understand why people wouldn't like that kind of thing. Not that i personally have any problem with the series.

CaptainKremin: Oh, if you're just about to bound in and say LLL is "insert hyperbole here".. well that probably says more about you than it does me.
LLL?
Leisure Lute Larry?

Is there a game I'm unaware of where Larry gets dropped into Kings Quest? Hmm, maybe LLL is actually the long lost LSL4!

It is. Dislike the game? Sure, to each their own, everyone has their own taste, etc. Feel that strongly about the game release? Yes, it's ridiculous.

CaptainKremin: I have to admit expected something special for the 500th game on a site that made it's name with Good Old Games. Yes, Larry might be an old game.. but it's a sleazy unfunny, unentertaining franchise.. But as we've pretty much come to expect now from GOG, their old audience is no long their main priority and their big aim now is at the lowest common denominator in order to attract as large numbers as possible, although that's not working.. the audience they want to attract use Steam or another distributer and their older audience just stop using their service because of the marginalization.

So yeah.. big whoop for the 500th release.. pointless and unattractive.

Oh, if you're just about to bound in and say LLL is "insert hyperbole here".. well that probably says more about you than it does me.
I actually have some pretty fond memories of playing through the Larry series with a couple friends along and having some laughs. I don't have the least desire to own or play the game today, however, so I understand that this being the 500th game is somewhat underwhelming.

But everyone has different tastes, likes, and dislikes. I don't be grudge GOG offering this as their 500th game. Who cares? It's just another game in the catalog when it comes down to it in the end.

As for the older audience being marginalized and GOG aiming towards the lowest common denominator, I don't see that at all. *shrug*
XIII has been pulled recently. So technically, Avernum could be 500th game as well.

It might be ridiculous for someone to hate a game like that. But that's what a lot of gamers do isn't it.

To get angry or laugh about someone who has issues like that is rather mean. I don't mind someone having a go at the series, it's just their opinion. Although the OP did question peoples morals and values for liking the game, so maybe he deserves a negative reaction.... I just feel pity for people with problems.

If you count removed games (and pre-orders), GOG currently has 510 games. So as we said before, the 500th title was added in the last year, but we accept their count (for now).

Does a package count for just one game? IE Ultima 1-3 and 3-6.

Both by my count and GOG's
Not trying to diminish LSH title in any way.

I don't understand why so much anger here. GOG could have easily make Duke or Avernum a 500th release. Or make us vote for a 500th game. Delaying releases, just to get it right with the number. But why make us wait?

Shouldn't we be happy about GOG releasing every title as soon as they can?
I will give CaptainKremin credit, at least he didn't complain about GOG not making System Shock or System Shock 2 the 500th release and start going on about how GOG should have completed this epic quest to get such a divine gift of a game in the catalog. I don't disrespect the people trying to get System Shock re-released on here, it would be great to obtain them at a decent price, but I disrespect the ones who freak out about GOG not having System Shock in their catalog and saying GOG has failed in their mission because of it. They should realize that GOG needs to get the legal right to sell any of the games they offer here on the site and seeing how the System Shock rights are pretty much in limbo, it will be impossible to get it right now unless the rights holders get the idea that this game needs to be re-released. Not only that but while the System Shock games are great, I do not think of them as divine gifts from the gods like a lot of people make them out to be, they are just games, not some holy grail.

Sorry for that long winded post, just wanted to talk about something that truly bugged since I joined GOG in 2010 and again I do not disrespect the people who want System Shock in the catalog and trying to make it happen but I disrespect the ones who take it a little too seriously.
