Ryan390: GOG's got many of my favourite games available for download. IMO, they have had a pretty decent stint the last 3-4 months with some old classics, particularly the Thief series..
However why are we hosting new releases, like the latest 3?
Surely releasing something like System Shock 1 + 2 would have been more logical? Not everyone has the power to run modern day games, and what's the point? They can be ascertained from anywhere, is it purely a business decision or is GOG not so OG any more?
A little help, since it seems you're a new poster:
1) As already mentioned, the GOG community as a whole voted to have modern releases alongside old releases. I don't necessarily agree, but the fact is that GOG is basically just doing what most users want. Not exactly a bad thing.
2) If someone were to make a list of all the unwritten GOG "do nots," then...well, I guess they wouldn't be unwritten anymore. But the point is that requesting System Shock 2 would be right at the top. Just... don't. Don't do it. As Wishbone has emphasized, the subject is a thoroughly beaten dead horse. In fact last I knew, System Shock 2 is the #1 most requested entry for the GOG catalogue.
