As for the debate I have played the first Mass Effect but haven't finished it yet and unfortunately have never played any of the older classic Bioware games not being into RPGs while growing up but I am definitely going to try Planescape Torment when I can because of all the universal praise the game always garners. :)

KOTOR and Baldur's Gate (I and II) are some of my favorite games, so I would have to say the old one. Not that I do not like the more recent ones, thank you (hell, I even enjoyed DAII very much)

Haven't played any newish Bioware games because i got so old computer :P but i love Baldur's Gate games, still to try KotOR and Neverwinter Nights.
Jade Empire is propably last Bioware game that runs on my comp so i'm interested to try it.

I like the new Bioware better, because despite the relatively shitty ending of Mass Effect 3 (and what happened to Thane), the rest of the series is a masterpiece. I also love, love, love Dragon Age, both the first and the second game. :)

On the other hand, I never had a chance to play the older games so there really isn't a comparison going on here. xD

Well, my favourite BioWare on GOG is Jade Empire, and even that one I couldn't bring myself to finish, so I guess I am not really BioWare material.

My favourite is definitely Baldur's Gate 2. You can't beat Viconia as a character, especially if you play the redemption card.
