I've got 11 at the moment, might end up with 12 or maybe 13 depending on the list for tomorrow

cheesetruncheon: I looked at the achievements, and tried the demo of Beat Hazard, now I can't stop playing it.
I used that to get the demo ticket and I had to stop playing by the boss fight because I felt like I was about to throw up. No wonder it has a siezure warning

I've got 15 i think, i only did the free ones and the achievements for games i own. I didn't fall into the scam of buying games just for tickets like a lot of people with high ticket counts did.

If you have over 30 tickets then you either bought tons of games in the sale or already owned a lot of games before the sale in which case you have money to spend so why not just buy some of the wishlist games instead of spending money on tons of games you will never play again just to win tickets.

FearItself: * I noticed that nmillar has 68 tickets.
Another possiblity is people have been using SAM (Steam Achievement Manager) which unlocks achievements for you just for loading up the game, So it's possible he is using that.

you can turn all of the flashes and stuff down, I think it's a great game, like asteroids based on your music, I prefer it to audiosurf.
I have 0 tickets (despite owning some of the games involved) and haven't entered a wishlist either, simply because: 1) I don't like that kind of contests and 2) I can afford to buy all the games I want anyway, getting a prize instead of someone who needs it more wouldn't feel right.

Fifeldor: I have none, I didn't like the concept of "buy this bargain, buy that deal, buy everything we throw in your face because you weren't likely to notice its existence, spend time in front of your monitor with everything we stuff in your mouth and never bother with these crappy games again", since last year's identical contest.

cheesetruncheon: on the contrary, I looked at the achievements, and tried the demo of Beat Hazard, now I can't stop playing it.

This sale is a good idea because it gets people looking at games they wouldn't necessarily play, and some people aren't the type to buy games just for one achievement, so they'll keep playing games they buy.

It also gives you reason to re-visit games you've had for a while to add an extra little challenge.
Yeah, a friend here got me Beat Hazard vanilla for X-mas last year and liked the game so much that I got BH Complete when it was on sale a few days ago and I'm glad I did, there's so much more they added to it on top of also having access to Steam's leaderboards.
I have 9.

There should be some other prizes in that shelf. Meaning some another cheap-ass game.
Not much of a prize if I take some homefront-level and never own the game.

I don't think he uses that. He spent times playing those games.

I agree with this to some extent. I've get a pretty big game list but the most expensive on the list (Bloodlines) cost me twenty....all the other games I have were ten and under and got through sales.

But I'd have to say that I only have about four in my wishlist that I couldn't afford even when I'm working. The others are all ten dollar titles that I can eventually pick over the next year naturally.

Also, the only one game I bought on whim to try and get its ticket was Garshap ( I traded TF2 hats for it) - and it doesn't run properly. XD

What I noticed was that some of those DLCs you could win, you were given anyway if you spent a buck more to get its complete pack ie; Killing Floor Complete comes with the extra Steam Punk characters so there was no use wasting tickets on it.

And the expansion for AI War would've actually made AI War cost more instead of just getting AI War Complete when it was on sale.

And someone couldn't have mentioned this beforehand? Seriously, I didn't even know about the Steam Achievement Manager; I've been relying on a bunch of GOG people on my Steam list to help with the multiplayer achievements.

..But we all like to be winners. =) Still.. I don't redeem those tickets. Got alien breed, I guess that's enough. Not going to hold my breath to win the grand prize and if I win it's sweet but it would be sweeter if I won a great deal of money instead.

Same here. And had some fun!
Hitting a fellow GOGer whom I won't name for 30, 32, 33 and 34 points in Worms reloaded, when we needed a flat 31, or being dragged through L4D2 and horribly failing the poor soul. Not to mention Altitude,... no wrong plane! Hit 'D', not 'F'!
Better than any utility.
The only sad one for me was HOARD, because the game kept crashing to desktop nearly every time I did half decent (~12 crashes in less than 1.5 hours, go figure).
I believe it doesn't matter how much tickets you redeem. All you earned will be included in the draw, even those redeemed.

I have 16 so far, bought only 2 games. I wanted both and they were cheap but I won'T buy game sonly to complete achievements as others did. :-)

And that's what makes this a great community, people are always ready to help each other :)

Though it would help if one had a long list of fellow goggers in friendlist...

;-)

That would be silly if redeemed tickets would be out of play in the lottery. But Antimateria has a good point, the prizes are pretty lame, and if you don't own the games they are for, they're useless :)

I don't think it's legal and you can get your account banned for it, so it's a good job nobody mentioned it, but yeah with 70 achievements or however many that guy has.... Steam achievement manager (or SAM) looks likely.

You are right. It doesn't matter. They will be in the jar if you use them or not. Just no point really use them if you have no use for them.
And the ticket-system never got me buy the game.

Edit: and it was a good sale.. competition is just a bonus.
