I see 1 and 2 are on sale here but tbh i always prefered to play hitman on consoles, i never played 1 or contracts but reading up on contracts made it sound kind of like a remake of 1 but in reverse.

is that how contracts is?

A few of the levels in contracts are remakes of levels from the first game, but it's also got a lot of new levels as well.

If I remember right contracts only has about half of hitman 1 in it. Hitman 1 is a great game so if you can spare the money and don't mind old graphics and really hard difficulty (no saving during the mission) you should get it. Hitman 1 is one of my favorite games ever.

well tbh i'm looking at getting the hd collection of hitman which has 2, contracts and blood money in it, thats why i asked my initial question

I'd like to add if you get Codename 47 (SP?) and like to use a game pad - It's not going to go well with just plugging in XBox's controller. I had to use my Logitech and mapping was a bit tricky.

Also, the first HItman on here....I'm not sure but it feels like a prototype copy - but I could be wrong and the first game is really this sloppy.

The game I remembered playing on PS2 started off with you as a gardener at a church and your first hit is disguised as a delivery person at a drug cartel mansion (maybe that was Hitman 2? Not sure).

It doesn't. It has several(half or a third, not sure exactly) but no, Contracts is overall a different game.

Sounds like a good plan. Just keep in mind that controls are kinda clunky in Hitman 1, so it will take some time to get used to after playing it's sequels, but stick with it, it's worth it.
