I read the entire thread on this and didn't see the exact answer, probably because it's a silly question :) I'm planning on getting a code for a specific game in a few days and sending it to my email so I can then give it out to a forum member but it will probably be for a game that I don't yet have and may want to buy later on for myself. Will I be able to do that or will the screen give me "Already Owned"?

If you buy it as a gift purchase, then sending it to your own e-mail is fine, as long as you don't redeem the code for yourself.

Already owned shows if you have the game in your library. If you buy it as a gift and not redeem it, you won't have it, so you could buy it.
