DarrkPhoenix: Looking at your RAM slots, two of them should be blue and two of them should be black. Make sure your two 4 GB chips are in the same colored slots, while your 2 GB chip is in the other color slot.
Cameron: Yes this is the case, I will make sure to adjust them, they were definitely in different colours from the manufacturer.
For the people kind of enough to recommend a good GPU my processor is Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.20GHz. If someone could recommend to me a good (or better) GPU in the $200-250 range that would be greatly appreciated.
Ugh. Stupid me. I never even thought of the colored slots. Cameron, I buy almost all my parts from
ncix.xom. I'm in the Vancouver area, so just go pick them up from the nearest outlet. Depending on where you are, you may have to add shipping if you buy from them, but right now they have a $4.99 shipping promo going on. I don't know much about the red team (AMD cards), but as far as the green team goes, I've gone with EVGA and MSI and had no issues.
*edit* Zotac are a decent brand as well, as far as I know. Not a fan of Future Shop, but that looks like a decent deal. Just make sure your rig has a beefy enough power supply to handle whatever card you decide on.
