Yes, you can (and should if you're gaming with the machine). For nvidia cards, you should be looking at a 5 or 6 as the middle number at the very least (as an example, my rig has a GTX 560ti). If it's in your budget, a 7 or 8 as the middle number would be a possibility (but you may be bottle necked by your CPU if you get a really powerful video card).

I'll have a look at your board's specs and see what I can find out about your RAM.

Looking at your RAM slots, two of them should be blue and two of them should be black. Make sure your two 4 GB chips are in the same colored slots, while your 2 GB chip is in the other color slot.

Yes this is the case, I will make sure to adjust them, they were definitely in different colours from the manufacturer.

For the people kind of enough to recommend a good GPU my processor is Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.20GHz. If someone could recommend to me a good (or better) GPU in the $200-250 range that would be greatly appreciated.

Ugh. Stupid me. I never even thought of the colored slots. Cameron, I buy almost all my parts from ncix.xom. I'm in the Vancouver area, so just go pick them up from the nearest outlet. Depending on where you are, you may have to add shipping if you buy from them, but right now they have a $4.99 shipping promo going on. I don't know much about the red team (AMD cards), but as far as the green team goes, I've gone with EVGA and MSI and had no issues.

*edit* Zotac are a decent brand as well, as far as I know. Not a fan of Future Shop, but that looks like a decent deal. Just make sure your rig has a beefy enough power supply to handle whatever card you decide on.

That's not your motherboard, that's the computer itself. That model seems to come with different hardware combinations, so I can't really tell what motherboard you might have.

Before upgrading your GPU also be sure to check your PSU.

Power supplies are one of the easiest components to upgrade, at least when it comes to compatibility. Just make sure the PSU they used isn't some rare, oddly sized unit, otherwise you can pretty much go with any standard PSU and you'll be fine.

If you want a decent GPU that won't tax your PSU, but a GeForce 750 Ti.
