If a new version of dosbox comes out, should I just download it and copy it over all the "dosbox" folders in my various GoG games to update my dosbox? Or wait for GoG to do a new installation file with the updated dosbox?

Thanks in advance.

Don't think I have ever seen such updated install. You have to do it by yourself.

Typically you shouldn't need to update DOSBox as the games should be running just fine. GOG uses a separate install per game IIRC and and as a result it's unlikely that you're going to gain anything by using a new version.

At least in most cases, occasionally a new feature might be worthwhile.

Its just an old habit I have from the old days when I still fooled around with emulators. I always updated them even if they were working fine.
