Finally :D

It was a great game, and I liked it a lot. But I hope that QfG2 is easier then this (I will play it using the remake, not the original version), because I died a lot of times, expecially during the "last" dungeon.

Congratulations. Now prepare for more heroic deeds, along with a time limit. Don't hesitate to ask questions, even though I still haven't played the remake.
I really hated the map/walking around part in qfg 2. Should be better in the remake from what i heard.
Can't really say qfg 2 is easier either.

The remake gives you the option of playing both in the original crazy layout or a revamped, straightforward one. I would suggest playing for a while with the original, so that you get an idea of what the devs were trying to do with that design, and then restart the game with the changed layout. I made the mistake of going all-original and after a while it was just boring to walk around not knowing where I was, even after hastily making a little hand-drawn map. It's one of those ideas that are good on paper (it's a different culture, with a different idea of what a city is, etc etc) and are initially fun, but later turn into a complete drag. I've yet to return because I was already a good way through the game when I became tired of running around, but I'll restart it someday with the revamped layout, haha.

Once ?

Two more times to go (the two other classes of character).

In the remake, you can choose the city's original layout or a drastically simplified one. Personally, I liked the complexity of the original, though.

Other than the plazas, there are 6 (I think) places you can visit, and you can get directions for all of them. Also, after the first time you visit them, you can move there automatically through the Magic Map (you did buy the map, right?). And since the map also shows you where you are in the maze, the only "problem" is the trip to the Moneychanger and back, but Alichica will be more than willing to give you directions to her.

Alternatively, just go out and find a bandit or two to kill and buy the map before going to Dinarzad

Edit: can visit, not must visit. Some are for specific classes only.

Well done on #1! I finished #1 but never made it through the others. My brother was able to finish #2 (this was back in '97 or '98).

They can be pretty tricky games!

Main advice is to train your character early. Most of the times the solutions to the puzzles can be learned by talking to everyone, especially people who appear to know about them.

Great game but very hard. :) There are so many ways to die. Some ways, no sane person can imagine. You think something is totally harmless, then suddenly, game over. But I think that is one of the reasons why this game is so fun. You never know what is going to happen next. :)

Thanks for the tip! :) I guess I was just too careless at the time to do that, and I always kept going in circles. That was a long time ago though, so I think I'll try again soon with a bit more patience, so thanks.
So I started QoG 2, and I choose the simplified version, but still I have tons of streets, so what is the difference?

This is the map you got with the game. Compare it to the one your game currently has.

Edit: This is the simplified version?? I'm off to go hit my head on a wall, please excuse me.
