michaelleung: Hooray... know where exactly in Asia? It wouldn't do much good if it were in Nepal.

Japan. I can't say gameplay is smooth though. Even though I managed to win my first duel so far, latency at 140ms is rather hard to play. It seems that projectile weapons are being calculated server side, so if you fire a rocket, there'll be a 0.3 second lapse before you actually see the rocket eject from the RL
I can play soon if you'd like. I'm logged on to QL, but I'm going for supper first, and will be back in 15 mins
Supper at 11? Late.
That's some nasty ping, but I'll have to download the QL files first.

I created a new quake live account, to see if that would correct the problem i had with the rifrst one, and now the new account is stuck at "you must complete the match with Crash". I beat that b*tch everytime, and quake live keeps telling me that i have to fight her again. WTF
Oh, and there arent to this day no servers near Peru, so f*** them.

I know, I'm actually quite upset at their server management - it's totally piss poor. It's not an easy job to set up and maintain servers, but clearly something's wrong with the management side if they haven't even got a Peer-2-Peer connection option. I mean, their priorities are totally off! Most servers only cater to the US/UK crowd. Even some of the Australian crowd were isolated for some time because most of the AU servers a few months ago were based in Sydney
I think the id sub-team did a great job with Quake Live, but credit given only where due, they need to buck up with getting their priorities right. Netcode for the most part is still bull and servers are sparsely located. Clan Arena is fun as hell, but what does it matter when people can't play properly because of shitty netcode?
They made a mistake of getting the game into Open Beta too early. This isn't a retail game like an MMORPG. Getting it into Open Beta is likely to fragment the community, outcasting those who can't play it right now from those who can't. And those who actually can't play it properly will have their interest die off very quickly, thus the game's popularity in future hinges solely on those who can play it hitchlessly right now

Yea, I suppose, they should have implemented a world-wide server map availability before going open. And it uses PB anyways, screw PB. I dont like PB services running in my computer, and having to stop them each time is annoying. The only thing i miss from Quake live which regular Q3 doesnt have is the Team Arena weapons and levels in some of its servers. No one plays Team Arena in regular Q3, since there arent any TA servers out there. : (
Finished a custom HUD.
The head is animated - it moves!

That's beautiful!
And it's now up for download: http://qlhud.core.ws/id/g2tPk6
Very nice. How do you actually use it on QL, though? I've never really messed with anything.

There's instructions included and tutorials all over the place. You just need to unzip 2 files to the Quake Live directory and enter 2 console commands.
I've released a slightly cleaner and updated one. http://qlhud.core.ws/id/jujGf2 - I'm still doing work on it, so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know =)
Anyone still playing? They just patched the game, add me http://www.quakelive.com/#!profile/summary/Silphatos
Domination mode is so awesome :D
