GOG uses Twitter for advertising? Wow it's not like anyone else does it. Twitter is a tool and people use it. Follow or don't follow the choice is yours.

Neah, their problem is with the fact that GOG tweets the same thing multiple times over a period of time.
If you want something less 'noisy', you're better off just subscribing to the RSS feed on the front page. Also, you can see for yourself why they post the same thing multiple times. Add '+' to the end of the one of the recent bit.ly URLs and view hits over the past 24 hours. You'll see a clear peak as the link is reposted, e.g. http://bit.ly/jyE8w4+

So does everyone else. BioWare, Beamdog, Green Man Gaming, DotEmu etc. Anyone linked to a store on twitter spams.

Well I can't say I noticed the repeated tweeting that much but if GOG do it that much then yes I can understand how that would be annoying.

i got adjusted to it :d thanks to the gaming websites, news channels but that was what the op meant , i think gog could promote other games on their catalog too instead just tweeting the offers and repeating them

Yes, it is, unfortunately... I try to keep my twitter clean and follow only those users that I'm really interested in, but since GOG started spamming their offers, I'll probably unfollow...
Yeah, that several centimeters of space is so offending.

mishkamasya: One tweet is easy to miss, especially when you're subscribed to spammy channels like BBC, for example.
Indeed :) Spamming on Twitter isn't a bad idea.

You might disagree, but truly it is.
I have friends that post up to ten tweets at a time.

I don't really mind GOG's tweeting. What's two or three a day?

I follow plenty of people on Twitter. It's like selective IRC messages with character length. So I treat it like that. It's not like each tweet is an envelope made of gold.

QFT.
I read every tweet I get and out of 10 latest tweets I have, 7 are from GOG -_-.

Sure - I've heard of the issue of info-noise but the solution to important info getting lost in the noise SHOULDN'T BE TO CHURN OUT MORE OF THE SAME. Guess what - that's just creating more noise.

It's also disappointing to see a new tweet from GOG, only to find out that it's something you already know :|.
