Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain seems to be "poster child" material for GoG.com, but I'm wondering why it hasn't been added to the library of content yet. Is there some issue as to who has the right to the Intellectual Property and thus a licensing conflict? Or have the the head GoGites just not got around to entering a distribution agreement with whomever does, in fact, own the rights to Blood Omen?

I think the IP is owned by Eidos, which is recently bought by Square-Enix.

I thought Crystal Dynamics was bought by Square-Enix.

Yes Cyrstal Dynamics who now make the Tomb Raider ganes. We would all love Eidos to come here but I fear their Japanese masters will not allow it.

I thought Core Design of Chuck Rock fame made the Tomb Raider series originally?
Same reason every other game people want isn't on here yet.
Yeah, evil wizards!

Aliasalpha: Yeah, evil wizards!

I thought it was the goblins...
I mean, it's always the goblins - right?
The goblins were made by evil wizards and the wizards are the ones that hold the rights to obscure games and hoard them selfishly rather than do the sensible thing and make money off them

Surely Uruk could be of some service, I mean, he's sort of an evil wizard? Perhaps he's the one we should be targeting our attacks on!

Yes Brothers, unite against this sorcerer of necromancy and foul deeds, he shall be punished for his crimes.
On a side note; legacy of kain was fun enough, I had the C.D. but I could not get it to work on X.P. : (

Core Design had the IP taken from them by Eidos after Angel of Darkness. Crystal Dynamics have been in charge of Tomb Raider since the reboot.

For any given title, anyone who holds any rights to the game has to be tracked down, and all parties have to agree to allow GOG to distribute the game. Often this just means an agreement with the publisher, but sometimes different assets are owned by different people, and licensed games (for example, Sam & Max or the D&D games) pose additional troubles.
After an agreement is reached, GOG does compatibility work and QA to ensure that the game works on Windows XP and Vista. That in itself can take a while; according to a recent interview, there are some titles they've been working on for months.
Anything that hasn't been released on GOG is either somewhere in this process or on a very long to-do list, provided it's a title that they actually want to distribute. As of right now, no deal with Square-Enix has been announced, but I guarantee you that GOG is interested in acquiring Eidos' back catalogue.

: ( I already sold it on Ebay, I checked the net for patches and cracks to get it to work but didn't see any. Ah well, hopefully GOG will get it eventually.
