"An official announcement is forthcoming, after which it is expected that proceeds of every purchase of the game, whether it be through Steam, Good Old Games or Xbox Live, will go direct to the independent studio which created it"
cool, I'm one the few remaining holdouts but it's just 'cause I haven't found the time to go for it.

I'll get it eventually and it will be nice knowing that the money is going where it should be.
Keep in mind there's also a chance that it'll get pulled until a new contract can be worked out.
I'll buy that for a tenner. Once the transfer goes through, of course.
Never really got into the game but was pretty good fun for what i played. Glad to see the ip go back to the developer who deserve the money for making it.
And to hell with the greedy publisher for publishing it. Greedy, greedy publishing publisher.
So, GoG buyout?

I'm just glad the game got picked up by another publisher eventually and the game went multiplatform

The game was originally intended to be an Xbox exclusive but as you know: it didnt turn out that way
Still, if the sequel will come, it will be console-only, as Double Fine stated that making games for PC isn't worth it. Can't say I blame 'em.

It depends on the publisher but if there isn't going to be a PC port then it's going to be complete stupidity, you want to know why? It's because people are STILL buying the game on DD services all those years after the game bombed on PS2 and XBOX
Let's check the facts. According to Wikipedia, that's how Double Fine's "vidyalogy" presents, with release platforms:

2005 Psychonauts – PC, PlayStation 2, Xbox
2009 Brütal Legend – PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
2010 Costume Quest - PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade (THQ)
2011 Stacking - PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Arcade (THQ)
2011 Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster - Xbox 360 with Kinect (Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment)
2011 Trenched - Xbox 360 (Microsoft Game Studios)

See? 5 of 6 games they made didn't appear on PC in any form, null, nada. It takes a lot of optimism to believe they will change their minds, adding the fact Psychonauts PC release was a bomb.

Psychonauts everything release was a bomb.
So did majesco sell the rights to Double Fine? How did they acquire the full rights back?
I already own it here... shame, I would have bought it if not.
Really wish this would happen more often with more games, lucky.
