So, you may have heard about the PS4. I know we not all hardcore or Console gamers but the new generation of consoles can be a big thing. Let's talk about.

Pros

-Can support resolution of 4 ks
-Supports 1080p
-Can use 3d

Cons
-No backward compatibility

So if you ever consider buying it, will buy it or not?

Not.

"This is bulls#!t, Foster."

If it can be rooted and used as a cheap powerful PC, I might buy one. I'm not holding my breath though.
I have loads of PS3 games and my two favourites Demons / Dark Souls cant be played apparently on this new system. So unless they do full backwards compatability with PS3 titles I wont be buying a PS4.

Thankfully this is all just rumour and speculation at the moment, bit of luck they will have learnt something and listened to upset users when they removed PS2 backwards compatability.
I would. I like consoles and I don't feel bad saying it. I don't have many PS3 games so I'm not too fussed about lacking backwards compatibility either.

Of course, the Playstations have been known for good games, especially exclusive ones. Change minds for few people?

To tell you the truth, I don't really have any special opinion on the matter. It's a new console. Great. Now the PS users can get into some better graphic than before.
I'm not too thrilled about the "no backward compatibility" thing, but that's the usual decision nowadays anyway.

Yeah, but the rumour seems sort of accurate but I guarantee PS4 will be on the market someday. Sony won't give up!

gameon: I would rather stick with the pc now. If it goes wrong i can repair it. The cost of repair, and the hassle with consoles is really annoying.
Yeah, but when you have an XBOX 360, there are many fixes for it's error that cost, NOTHING.

I'm not fussed with the backward compatibility thing either. As long my PS2 stays alive..
Well, better be checkin' the NCAA tournament and do other stuff. See ya!

Not quite a universal decision. The Xbox 360 has always had backwards compatibility (through emulation) while the new PS3s don't. I suspect it's a Sony thing in general while the other companies like Nintendo and Microsoft are focused on making everyone happy their ten-year old game still works.

Quite bafflingly, some early versions had BC, and most (later all versions) didn't. I didn't quite get that, to tell you the truth.

The original PS3 had an actual PS2 CPU inside the unit, and I guess they couldn't be bothered to do software emulation.

Nope, regardless of all things good or bad about it.
Everything that we will hear until the release of the next Xbox and PS systems is just pure rumour and speculation

this happens before the release of every console
Yep, and since even the rumors say it won't be an issue until the end of 2014, I think there's plenty of time to make up our minds about whether to get it or not.

I'm still a fan of Sony more so than Microsoft when it comes to consoles, so I'll most likely get the next-gen Playstation sometime after its release.
