Mentalepsy: What do you actually do in this game? Is it just randomly running around a sandbox city killing pedestrians until you get bored and turn it off?

No, there's actually a story and monsters and military you have to fight. Parts of the story are told in a unique way, with you consuming certain individuals to learn what they know about your situation.

there's these really crazy ass zombie infected that require you to play a certain style, and if you don't it's ultimate death, they stick you in that situation fairly early, so it's got a bit of a learning curve, but you can continously play the part w/o any penalty if you die, which is pretty good for being an RPG as well as a sandbox super power game.
Another thing I noticed was that after you miss a tutorial popup, there's no way of going back to see it, so I don't know how to stealth consume right now.. I mean certainly I could find it, but it's going to be difficult.
I also think it's odd how the game doesn't run any higher than 1440x900 for widescreens.
I have 1600x900 god damn it!

I think you can check it in the upgrade menu. If you are on PC, then it's first the F button (to bring forth the disguise ability menu), then E while you are behind your target to consume it.

Dave3d: 1. IS there a real save system, or is i tall checkpoint saves?
2. If, after you finish the game, can you try to bind End to one thing, and keypad 1(end) to another? Can you bind these 2 keys to seperate actions? How about 0(ins), 4(L.Arrow), 7(Home) ? Enter ?

Khalan: I've finished it on PC. The answer to the first question is that the game uses both. You can save at any time and it also saves automatically between and mid- missions. I haven't checked key bindings, as I used my 360 controller.

Any chance you can do a quick test to see if they can be bound seperately?
Thanks.

Tutorials can be reviewed in the Logs sections of the pause menu. Stealth consume is RB (or F on keyboard) to bring up the right-hand powers menu, then B (E on keyboard?) when you're behind and not observed.
Resolution is limited by the game according to your available VRAM, check the readme.htm file for the lists. You could put it on 1280x768 and add 4xAA, it will look great.

I checked the manual, it says keyboard controls can be remapped.
All complaints are thrown out the window the first time you slice somebody's torso diagonally in half...

Eww... So you use mouse+keyboard? Isn't a little umconfortable?

I do that. I don't have any problems with it, but I pretty much only play PC, though I've got a few a NES, XBox and a NDS.
I've played a Hulk game on Xbox, which was similar to Prototype in someways, but I actually had more problems with the controls there.
The only problems I have with the controls in Prototype, is when he seems to do the complete opposite of what I want him to, though I suspect that is also partly because of camera confusion.

Nope, I prefer it, the only thing that's uncomfortable is that they didn't fucking include mouse aim.

Are you serious? What does the mouse do, rotate the camera while the character doesn't move?

Yes.

LOL. Well... now I think about it, I played X-Men Origins: Wolverine with mouse+keyboard and I think the mouse only rotates the camera. It wasn't that uncomfortable though.

Oh well. I played Sands of Time and Beyond Good & Evil well enough with controls like that, maybe this one will be tolerable as well. How do you actually aim your attacks, though? Don't you have guns and throws and things like that?
If it doesn't work, I do have a 360 gamepad for my PC now, so I can always use that.
I probably won't be playing it for a while, though, anyway. I almost never spend that much money on a game unless it's something I can't live without.

You aim by using the TAB button, and pointing the camera in the general direction of the enemy.
