No promo this week it seems.

Well, uhm, we've just been through a huge sale. There not being a sale the week after the biggest gog sale ever is not all that big an issue, is it?

Go to Steam then.

Slack as a business? I wonder how many times Steam give away free game codes through contests... ;)
Oh, and did Steam give you free soundtracks, artworks, and making sure their old game catalogue compatible with XP and Vista? Slack as a business indeed. :P
Seriously, I know Steam sales have spoiled lots of gamers (including myself), and I am also a little bit disappointed with this week's lack of sales (even though I probably won't buy anything). But calling GOG 'slack as a business' because they don't have weekend sale for once? That's just petty and ridiculous.

They put 171 games on sale for a week. You have absurdly high standards.
That and if they have a sale every week, most people won't buy at full price ever.
They know what they're doing. Think beyond yourself.

I would love to know how not having a sale one weekend apparently now = 'slack as a business'. Are you kidding me?

Slack business? Compare GOG now, during their first year or so of business open to the public to the same time for Valve and Steam, and you'll see that GOG are far more active in the sales department than Valve have been for the first 3 or so years they were in business.
Seriously, you really cannot compare a small start-up such as GOG to Steam which has been going for the better part of a decade. But at least GOG actually put *ALL* their games on sale over the holiday, unlike the other mainstream services.
Oh and let's not forget that after the end of the 2008 to 2009 holiday period sale, Steam didn't have a weekend deal in the first week of January. So were they too, a slack business at the start of 2009?

He's comparing one site to another, which many like to do when it is advantageous towards Gog. When it is not, we defend it as if it is some just cause.
Both are companies, it is not my place to make excuses for them.
No sale, it sucks right? Pretty much anything more than that being said was speculation.

Maybe you should go back and read his posts more carefully, as you obviously missed this bit:
it shows they are slack as a business.
The statement itself it's not the issue, the issue is the reasoning behind the statement, which is...bemusing to say the least.

HOw is it amusing? I was lead to believe that GOG would have a promo every week and a hidden gem of the week, which it has had neither. This to me is not delivering and a sign of slackness.

The bemusing part is how you leaped from not having a weekend sale on the weekend immediately after the holidays sale, or in any weekend for that matter, to business slackness, regardless of what you were led to believe or why.
Tell you what, there's no promo this weekend, but there's an ongoing contest where 9 free games are up for grabs. Might want to take a whack at it.
