It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hi all,

I feel kind of stupid right now, cause I can't figure out how to solve this.

Yesterday i bought Zork Grand Inquisitor and downloaded it with the GOG downloader. So far so good.
But there was also a bonuscontent which I tried to download separately and I got an errormessage on that one. Quite possibly I am mistaken here and the bonus content is already integrated in the game file, not sure here.

But support asked me if I used the latest downloader. I didn't, so I uninstalled the old one and installed the new one but now I can't get it to work.

I am pretty sure it is because Firefox doesn't know where the downloader is located on my computer.

For example it I try to add Dragonsphere to the downloader I get this:
Firefox can't find file on gogdownloader://dragonsphere

How do I tell FF where the downloader is?
I've installed it on an external that's is permanently and directly linked to my pc.
The path to the downloader is F://GOG games/GOG.com

Please tell me how to do this, I know I had the same problems when I first installed the downloader, but I can not remember how I fixed it.
If you face problem then simply reinstall dear and check it it fully install or not may be some files are not properly installed and Technical Support can allow you to clear out your download problem.

Firefox is sometimes using its own values and not using default ones found in the system registry.
Try Firefox -> Options -> Options -> Applications and removing or setting to a default value besides "gogdownloader".

Restart the Downloader and try again.

Hope this helps.

I had the same problem at first but after reinstalling it worked correctly. You might want to try using a different browser as well, I'm on Chrome.

First of all, thank you all for answering!

I got it to working finally and this answer from Fallen_Zen is about the same I got from support.

At first it didn't seem to work, but at a second attempt the downloader finally launched properly and is working just fine now!

So pleased to say that the problem is solved.

Just glad it helped :)
I've a question about the new downloader. Being as it says it detects the versions of the GOG installers and advises you when there is an update, does it therefore require the installers to be located within a set folder? Only I quite like to keep my files organised and each GOG game I have has a separate folder within my Games Installers folder, so I don't think it would be able to detect any games let alone the version numbers of the installers.
I also want to thank Fallen_Zen for the solution he offered. I went into the Firefox Application Options, found "gogdownloader" in the list, chose "Use Other" from the drop-down list, then used Browse to point Firefox to the new "GOG.com Downloader" program (if you installed it in the default directory, it should be in under Program Files/GOG.com -- or Program Files (x86)/GOG.com if you've got a 64-bit version of Windows).

That worked for me. Now the downloader's working properly.
In Firefox, I went to options-options-applications, and it couldn't find "gogdownloaded" in the list. I installed it, reinstalled it, and ran the registry update thing. Still can't find it there.

Edit - Never mind, had to manual turn on GOG.com Downloader mode on gog.com, and now works
