It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

×
I already tried the DNS change to

4.4.4.4
8.8.8.8

and

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220

Problem remains. :\

I think i'll use Chrome until this fix by itself...
From the timing, this sounds related to the update from Firefox 33 to 34. Do you see the issue also in the safe mode of Firefox? If not, then likely an installed add-on is the culprit (Flashblock break flash videos in 34, but that shouldn't affect the Google stuff).

Uhm, thing is, this already started a few days ago but it was only temporary, now it just doesn't open and it affects google search.

And yeah, i already tried the safe mode and the problem remains, i don't see anyone else complaining in the last week so i guess it's an isolated problem and not from the FF update.

I had the same problems a while ago (earlier this year). Only the Google services were affected and only in FireFox. I think the culprit was some other software that connectied to the internet. I think I always got these issues after launching the Battle.net client and haven't run into those ever since I've stopped using that client. Really weird stuff.

I use Firefox too, but if that were to happen to me, I would uninstall ALL my add-ons and firefox too and start from a clean slate. (First re-installing only Firefox then slowly add-ons). Basically it's the good old 'turn it off and turn it back on again' approach (a running joke from the show the IT crowd). If you tried that already, then I have no idea what could be happening other than maybe virus scanning the system or installing an older version of Firefox and if that fails, well you know what to do...good luck figuring it out.

Actually i recently updated the LoL client after a few months without playing it but not sure how it would also affect the other laptop that doesn't even have any games installed.

Eh, i want to avoid doing that since it would block my Steam market for a week. Besides, wouldn't FF safe mode work if that was the case? I also doubt it's virus since i keep my laptop well protected and i don't interact with the other laptop so it would be weird both laptops having the same virus.

I'm more inclined to believe it's router related, that piece of garbage always gave me problems with having to open ports and stuff...
Btw, gog is also having problems but i assume that's due to the sale/free game, right? Or is it only me?

Right, well routers aren't my strong suit so I can't help out with that so good luck. Reinstalling stuff could be a pain, I know it varies with the person's lifestyle regarding how they use their browser. Safe mode seems legitament, but as you mentioned it didn't help so I offered a more...radical approach I guess. Safe mode would have been my go to of course since it disables extensions and stuff but if it's a deeper problem in the browser, I personally wouldn't know what to do other than start over, of course keeping things like bookmarks and stuff in a seperate area to reapply later. Anyway, I hope you get it sorted it out eventually, since you seem pretty busy with other ongoing things like your Steam market.

I get increased load time (due ot the constantly changing tickers and deals) but nothing else. Any orders I make on gog and web viewing work fine with me anyway (using Firefox).

No, not only you.
Imported bookmarks, passwords, whatever to Chrome;
Chrome no longer opens youtube videos;
Uninstalled Chrome so that i can start all over again (fresh start)
Cannot download Chrome because, again, cannot access google services.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ok, new question, i know i should avoid Belkin routers, what are the brands that i should consider for my next router?

You can also try to open: "about:config", search for "mediasource" and enable (double click on it). Worth a try, because Chrome uses it by default, so if Chrome works ok, but FF doesn't, that might be the cause. Youtube is pushing media source extensions pretty aggressively lately (youtube.com/tv doesn't even works lately without it).

As I said, I'm no expert, but in my experience (and according to several people who know this stuff better than I do) Netgear is great. I've been using Netgear routers for ten years and they never let me down, extremely reliable stuff. In my experience you also won't ever run into any surprises because you can't access some settings that you need. Heck, the last Netgear router I got actually had a big sticker on its box that endorsed installing third party firmware (not that anything is wrong with the pre-installed official firmware, as far as I can tell).

Thanks, was checking the local stores websites and i found Netgear wireless N300, it's in my price range so i'll add to my list.
Search first if your router is supported by DD-WRT, Open WRT, Tomato etc. If not buy one which can be used with those. At least if the original software is crap you can change it to something better.
