I haven't been downloading games from GOG.com for a while, but since I got Witcher 2 Enhanced Edition, I had to upgrade my Downloader to the "Final" version.

One of the biggest flaws I noticed about this downloader is that it keeps the CPU usage at ~100%, making my heatsink fan sound like a jumbo jet. And the other flaw is that there are frequent .NET unhandled exception errors.

And a few suggestions regarding your downloader:-

1) Keep the CPU Usage low: Just like other softwares like uTorrent, IDM, etc.

2) Select multiple items using Ctrl, Shift combinations: Rather than selecting all items.

3) Set download limit: This is one of features I use to share the bandwidth with other computers connected to my Local Area Network.

That's it, can't complain about the deals you give in your games!

Are you using the 3.0.25 version? For me it's mostly 0-1% of CPU usage, sometimes it can peek to 4-5%, but that is all. What kind of CPU are you having? The high CPU usage is while downloading, merging? Thanks for your feedback.

Yes I am using the 3.0.25 version of the downloader, which is marked as "Stable". I am using a Core2Duo 8400, and it hasn't been giving me problems in running small tools like this downloader. And this is the CPU usage I get when the game is downloading. I can understand if it goes upto 100% if the download is merging as it is processor intensive.

EDIT: May I know the reason behind the huge data leaks/drops that is caused by the downloader? I already had 2.8 GB downloaded not long ago and now it is at 2.52 GB. I have never had such problems when the downloader was beta a few months ago.

Well the CPU usage in your case is strange. I can look into it. Nevertheless the update is progressing fine with many improvements, so I guess you'll have to wait a few days to check if there are differences.

Sure thing, Thanks for the quick replies.
Here's a log of an Unhandled Exception Error I recieved a few minutes ago. Hope it helps you in fixing issues for your next build: Click Me
Thread necro, but I have the same issue on my pc with a phenomx4 .
Oddly enough it also was keeping my GPU heated up, it went from 45c to 29 as soon as I closed the downloader.

The latest version till date (3.2.70) is not stable at all. I am losing downloaded data by the second. First it was 123MB, then 30, then 6. The cycle is repeating itself and completing my download seems impossible this way. Can you please fix this issue? I have observed that the files are no longer parted in 10MB chunk files. That method was pretty effective and I was able to download my games without any issue.
