It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Even though this site is great, it does not redeem it's headache of a flaw - my downloads won't stop getting corrupt. As of now, I've downloaded "The Longest Journey" for the sixth time.
I am aware that downloading large files may cause them to get corrupt, but this is getting out of hand. Maybe it is because I am located in the cold north (Norway), far away from the servers, or my internet is cursed.
Enough with my rant - does anyone else have this problem? What is the fix? Is the problem known?

Have you tried both running through the downloader (needs adobe air), and directly through the browser?
The downloader has given some people problems. But for some it's the best option given their dodgy connections. As stated, all you can really do is try both.
It's not a common problem. If you still have the issue with both methods, contact GOG support and they'll do whatever they can to help you, no matter where you're located. Wouldn't be the first time.
It might help to know what browser, including version, you are running. Also, it has been suggested in the past that temporarily disabling your anti-virus while downloading can prevent the odd corruption.
Click the search button, enter "downloader" and you will find many discussions about the GOG downloader and browser downloading. . more info than you want probably . . .=)
Thank you for the replies :)
But yes, I've tried both. Finished my seventh or eight download now. Maybe I should try IE instead of Firefox? About firewalls or antivirus - I am a gambler for not having any.

Try using a download manager in Firefox like DownThemAll! and see if that helps.

IIRC, you can't use download managers as the GOG downloads reauthenticate at set intervals and the download managers can't handle the authentication method they use.

I think (and I stress think) that is only an issue if you try to stop and then restart the download. AFAIK, it doesn't "reauthenticate", but the actual URL changes at regular intervals. Thus, if you started the download with one URL, and it has changed since then, you cannot restart the download because the link is no longer valid. That at least, is how I've understood the explanation.
No problem downloading from Finland with ADSL broadband (1/512, 2/1 and now 4/1).
Do you have some sort of wireless connection? Several people have reported problems downloading using wireless but most of them were from US. AFAIR GOG file servers reside in Cyprus. Have you had problems downloading big files elewhere?
Also there's change, considering you having no firewall/antivirus program, that your computer is infected by virus/mallware. You really should use at least the default windows firewall.

Never had any problems with Firefox here. I suppose you could try reinstalling it.

Download managers typically let you change the source URL for an existing download or add mirrors to it. I personally use Free Download Manager and have had no problems resuming GOG files in this manner. Download managers also discard incomplete chunks when resuming an interrupted download (causing the download progress to backtrack by maybe 100kb or so) to ensure the resulting file doesn't become corrupted. It is very rare for a file downloaded with a download manager to end up corrupted even if you start and stop it and/or change download sources multiple times.

If you've downloaded once and gotten a corrupted file, you'll want to clear the browser cache since it caches files and might have cached the corrupt part, hence you'll keep getting corrupted download no matter what you try.
The easiest solution: Abandon Microsoft Internet Exploder, with it's security holes, truncated downloads, cache pollution, and eccentric interpretation of the term "standards-compliant", and upgrade to a reliable browser such as:
- Firefox
- Opera
- Chrome
Otherwise, clean up your system. Viruses, malware, adware, all this can affect downloads.
If all else fails, try a command-line download utility, like GNU Wget or cURL. These allow you to download files with either HTTP, HTTPS, or any FTP protocol via a simple command, however you do need the full URL.
That being said, I've never had a problem downloading.
Are you on fiber or wireless? Does it happen to other files too or just GOG?

Using Firefox no problems here.
If it's always around the same time, try another time.
Otherwise you could ask your ISP to have the lines checked because of your unstable connection.
