I'm just wondering if anyone else is having problems ordering with the Verified by Visa option. I created my Visa account thing, and every time I click to place the order after typing in my password, it shoots my to this GOG error page saying my order cannot be placed at this time and you have not been billed.
Just wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I really want to buy and play Fallout!!!! And get that special buy 1 get 1 Interplay deal!!!!

That was happening to me for a while. Just keep trying and it will eventually work.
Was this happening for days or hours?
When I first tried to buy a game a few days ago, with my visa card, it didn't work. Then I tried today and it did, after signing me up to the Visa security thing.
Huh. I signed up for the Visa thing and it's still not working. Something must be wrong with the information I put in. Even though I can log in on the Chase Visa website just fine.
I personally boycott any attempt to force me to use the ridiculous "Verified by Visa" system, that:
1) Is only a benefit for the banks and
2) Are actually more insecure than before since it trains users to fail phishing scams.
Luckily GOG allows Paypal - and Paypal doesn't want to do that crap to draw the money from my VISA.

Do you have anykind of popup blockers installed? If you do, then first thing that you might want to try is add www.gog.com/* site to trusted sites on that blockers administration menu. If your popup blocker wont have that kind of possibility, then try without the blocker or with other browser.

Actually that depens highly of the bank that you're using. Mine is finnish bank and they use strong (3 level) recognizing. After you have accepted the payment, you have this popup. There you have to give your static username, your current password and then it will give you a OTP query and that comes from the bank.
Making it safer than this, takes us back to paper forms.

Yeah... i made the mistake of signing up to this stupid scheme... and now i'm stuck with it (i think... its too much hassle to log in and check it. )
It doesn't seem to make anything more secure, and is just really annoying.
Thats why i'm glad they added paypal... i couldn't face using the vbv system...

The problem is that it's not actually any safer. All it does is open you up for getting even more personal data stolen by eg a keylogger or a man in the middle attack, as well as make the common user accustomed to giving out massive amount of information on the net, which could lead to more people falling for phishing scams.
There was in fact a scam a few months back of the more basic variety with emails and scamsites claiming to be from "Verified by Visa". People will be more likely to fall for those now.
No - the ONLY benefit is to the banks who will now have no responsibility for ANY misuse of your account. Since you have to use a personal password they can now pin all the responsibility on you for not being careful enough with it, and you will pay every cent that the scam costs you.
The fact that they try to sell this as beneficial to the customers is - to be honest - outrageous.
