After Interplay promo I am trying to sort manually my games on GOG. But this time it is going to be long. Why cant I sort them from "show titles" view? Boxes are large and that make sorting more difficult. :(

I kid, i kid. I have the same problem, anyway. Moreso. Twice the size, in fact.

I sorted mine by genre and which I liked so like this: RPGs best to worst, adventures best to worst, etc. Then I listed free games. Then as I bought more I started new groupings after the free games, making another set of RPGs best to worst, adventures best to worst, etc.

That way you don't have to rearrange the whole shelf every time you buy a bunch of games. Just seperate the NEW shelfs groupings by a free game or two or something, and start again.

Hold ctrl while scrolling the mouse wheel, and see if it helps.

Ctrl + Mousewheel or Ctrl + (-) to zoom out. While holding a box the fastest way to scroll is still the mouse wheel.

I wished there is an option to select a complete row to move and a little basket as temporary store on the side. But the shelf is a only a nice toy and no high priority, I can live with the standard list view.

1. free games still have some category I would like to have them in
2. I'd like to have possibility of easy sorting after every purchase - and I often buy just one game

I think also option to "not replace box" but "insert box between" would be convenient (if you know what I mean).

Group by genre and leave space in between? If you set sorting to manual(the selector at top right of shelf view) it'll allow spaces.

When you move boxes around leave some spaces empty. :\ Like put RPGs first by moving/swapping boxes....then move some boxes after that to the bottom shelf, and leave some spaces clear, then start the next genere grouping until all are sorted.

Like game game game, blank blank blank, game game game, etc.

Normally when sorting is set to something other than manual the shelf will move all the games up one to fill a spcae if you make one by moving a box. But on manual the space will remain empty....allowing you to put games where you want them. I have it on manual myself, but have so many games it was easier for me just to use the genre genre genre genre free game genre again genre again etc method.

Hey, I have no problems with improvements ;-) To play around with the shelf is really fun.

I guess what you mean, you want to put a game between to others, as example to complete a series with the middle game. Yes, that would also be nice

Btw, we need more free rows than just the two on the bottom. I prefer to sort my collection by genre, and the some more free spaces are very helpful.

Need to check this, but as far as I remember you can only use as much free spaces than the 1-2 free rows gives you from the bottom. You can't get more rows, and that what I would like to have.

Edit: Tested it, got a third row by moving one game down, but that's it.

Try sorting by genre, and leaving spaces between them. Like 5 rpgs, then 2 empty spaces then 7 fps games etc......and see what happens. By doing this you can leave room between genres to allow for more games as time goes on.

As long as you can space and sort easily why do you need more rows at the bottom? As you buy games it'll add more rows/spaces to accomodate.
