I have decided to have a competition since I can't buy any games for myself (I have over twenty still to play!)
This will be a game of Prisoner's Dilemma.
You must have GOGPM to play
RULES
1) Ten people can enter and there will be ten rounds of play.
2) Each round I will divide the ten people into five groups of two.
3) Every round you must choose whether to co-operate with or betray your fellow prisoner.
4) You will not know who your fellow prisoner is and you will be drawn against a different person every round.
5) If both people co-operate you will both receive 3 points, if both people betray then you will both receive 0 points, if one person betrays and one co-operates then the betrayer will receive 5 points and the co-operator will receive 0 points.
6) Every round will take 24 hours or will end when everyone has made their choice if that is sooner. If you don’t respond before the time ends I will assume that you co-operate.
7) After ten rounds the person with the most points will receive a $9.99 game of their choice. If it is a tie then I will do a draw to decide the winner.
Post in this forum to enter the competition. The first ten people to post will be entered.
Once ten people have entered I will send a pm to each person, reply to this saying either “CO-OPERATE” or “BETRAY”. Please don’t write anything else in the message as I am trying to get a script working to automate this.
You can post anything you want in this forum but you must make your choice by gogpm. After every round I will post the results. Your chances of guessing who you will be drawn against will obviously increase every round, so feel free to base your strategy around this!
