I loved the ancient China setting which doesn't occur that often in English games. It has a pretty long single player game with a huge world. The story takes a while to kick off but apart from that, it's a pretty good action RPG.

If I remember correctly, you could swap between the main character and his companions during combat, which was pretty neat (and hectic at the same time)

I never completed it because my save games got corrupted and I didn't want to redo the whole game again.

FlyByU: A game I would like to see come to GoG.com. I have this game in box version but it doesn't work with my Win 7 OS. IMO it's as good as Baldur's Gate maybe better in some aspects.

Did anyone else play this game? If so your thoughts on this game.
Funny, i literally just installed it a few hours ago because i glanced at it in my collection and got a bit nostalgic, i never finished it, but got far enough and enjoyed every bit of it.

Have you tried installing it using Win XP Compatability? I remembered having similar problems, so i tried installing it using Win XP Compatability and and starting the installer as an Admin and t installed and played just fine.

I registered account in GoG just for posting about this game.

It is one of my first RPG, and i play it again and again since 2003 until now. But actually i have only finished it twice in 2003. Later i only play it when i have no other good game to play. (I have just start playing it again yesterday.)

IMO, it deserved a score of 9 instead of 6.7 as on gamespot.com

Some impressive features are:
- Contains many philosophies of ancient Chinese
- The story line is about the First Emperor of China
- Different ending based on your actions in game
- Forge items with random effect
- Lots of items in the game, you may need to play three times for collecting all the items, include unique (legendary) items.

There is a very detailed walk-through on IGN.com

(Actually it missed some minor things, but it's ok, you will find discovery them when playing.)
...

The game can run on Win XP, Vista, 7, & 8. But it wont work with modern NVIDIA graphic card. I tested with my two laptops, one with NVIDIA 8600M GT, other with NVIDIA 625M. Older card such as 7600 GS is fine. But it works well with other laptops with Intel HD 4000 and ATI HD 3200.

You can find the installation on torrent. I only have installed folder since win Vista (but run well on win 7 & 8).

Here's a link to the wishlist entry:

http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/prince_of_qin

And I don't mean that in 'OP should have used the wishlist and not the forum for this' kind of way but in a 'Yeah, this game looks really interesting, I've just voted for it and so should you' kind of way!

*edit*
Also, just a reminder that Jade Empire did get added to GOG recently for all those who want SOME kind of far eastern RPG action now that the idea's in their head!

I actually installed this last night and had a shot, I remember only getting a short way into the game before it crashed and refused to go any further but that was a long time ago. I dont know if it mattered as it may not be the original case but the DVD box it came in is for 3 cd's but there were only 2 discs in the box, not sure if that matters, it installed fine,

I would test it again but when i played a few minutes last night i got killed by 2 bears.
I loved this game back in the day. Seal of Evil wasn't bad either.
Aw yeah, this game has GOT to come here. Still got my CD copy. Good times. The translation makes for some amusing moments.
I loved this game when I last played it. I got the the final boss and could never beat him. Gog needs this game so I can finally beat that boss lol.
I would rather see Strategy First's Culpa Innata here.

Why not both? Hopefully the uncut version.

I don't say I don't want to see it here. Whoever wants it to appear on GOG should vote for it. The theme and NWN-like feel are interesting aspects but it isn't the title I am actively considering to buy (thus no vote from me).
Definitely a title that deserves to be on GOG.

I still have many fond memories of playing on the Strategy First servers. It's a shame multiplayer died so quickly. During research for an article I'm writing, I noticed the second hanzi in the Chinese title (秦殇, qín shâng, meaning "Qin War") can mean as "die young". The Qin Dynasty only lasted 15 years, and Prince of Qin itself was rather short-lived (especially when it comes to English MP). It's almost a divination.

I imagine some of you played MP as well; if so, you may remember the name Zhou Wan. My relatives and I ran a sporadic semi-dedicated server over the years called Prince of Qin Legends (as well as others, I'm sure) after SF shut down its PoQ operations. Good times.

It's amazing to me how quickly Object Software developed the game. It took about two years, and the majority of the assets were still in use years later in World of Qin 1 (aka Prince of Qin Online or Tianjiao). WoQ 2 never captured the same vibe that PoQ did, and I think utilizing actual 3D was a mistake. Seal of Evil's art suffered from this as well. The characters were less fluid, more blocky. The background art and the music, however, were always stellar.

For all of my obsession with the game, it is ironic that I never completed SP. I got lost several times and suffered from numerous bugs. Eventually I hope to do an LP and share a lot of my history with and insight of the game.

Also, I've been reverse-engineering the game over the years and hope to remake it some day. In a perfect world, OS would just hand over the code so I could modernize it — but alas, such is not our world.
