Does anyone know if I can use a Visa Gift Card to make purchases here? It's supposed to work like a credit card but I haven't had any luck. Does it matter that I just activated the card?

No need to delete the thread, I think - it may prove useful for others. :)
The problem with prepaid cards is, they don't always support online transactions, transactions in US Dollars, or transactions with foreign countries (the latter is the case with WalMart cards, for instance).

I believe that the Green Dot type cards will work.

I use prepaid VISA electron to buy from GOG. The card has some kind of micro chip on board and on the back there's security code used for net transactions. Currency: PLN but no problem with transactions in EUR/USD.
I think you should check this 3 digit code on the back side of the card - if you got it - 99% you will have no problems. And one more thing: do you have any money on it? When I bough mine from bank - it was empty. Such cards don't have cridit line - you can spend money only when you've got them first :-)
