A Big game for a Tiny price.

Tiny & Big: Grandpa’s Leftovers, an indie platforming wonder, is available right now for pre-order with a 10% discount and a set of ready-for-download goodies for $8.99.

If you’re a fan of weird comic-styled platformers or physics-based puzzles, you’re in for a one-of-a-kind treat from Black Pants Studio. In Tiny & Big: Grandpa’s Leftovers you are Tiny, a small guy with a powerful raycutter, a gripping-device, and a rocket, who’s trying to find the only heritage his grandpa left him: a nice pair of white, fine rib underpants. On his way through the desert he will run, jump, slice and drag stuff, fight his archnemesis Big, and probably use the services of one crazy robot taxi.

Tiny and Big offers completely destructible environments with better-than-life physics. To reach the unreachable places Tiny’s supposed to reach, he will use his laser to cut through everything, his grappling hook to pull, or rockets to push objects into place; that way, the sanbdox-style gameplay offers a unique variety of possibilities to solve puzzles. In addition to that, Tiny and Big offers wonderful 3D graphics: artistic and comic-like with hand-drawn textures produced with ink and pen.

Get Tiny & Big: Grandpa’s Leftovers, a game that has been featured on Independent Games Festival, Indie DB, Fantastic Arcade Festival, and EuroGamer Expo, for only $8.99 during the pre-order period on GOG.com.
If any one want to try it, here is the old demo for Windows, Linux and Mac.

ne_zavarj: And i hope no Steam , GamersGate release at the same day .
Why would that be bad? I could understand the bundle concern, since you're agreeing to a price that could possibly be grossly undercut, but if the game is good then I would hope it gets as much exposure as possible.

ne_zavarj: Never heard of it .

mrtophat101: Is this guaranteed to not end up in a bundle upon release? ;)

ne_zavarj: I forgot to ask that . And i hope no Steam , GamersGate release at the same day .
According to the dev's site it releases on Steam on the 19th.
Has anybody pointed out the demo yet? It is downloadable from their website. I remember trying it about 6 months ago and found the experience quite entertaining.

Eh, that's there choice. You'll choose to get it from GOG, and I probably will as well (I have to look into the title first). But I don't think the developer (especially an indie developer) should have to suffer lost potential sales because of the preference of a portion of their demographic. After all, there is that silly "no Steam, no sale" contingency that probably wouldn't be convinced because of a GOG exclusive.
The demo's downloading as I'm writing this reply, thanks for the links, everyone.
I recall seeing a few videos of the game a while ago, it's an intriguing project to be sure.

Game track? Is there only one song in the game? :P
Oh my... they're finally gonna release it... in Germany they've been hyping this since when it was still just a students' project. I've seen so much footage of it, now I don't even feel like playing it anymore.
I tried a demo of this ages ago. I was very impressed, but the long time that's gone by since then had me convinced that the project was dead. Nice to see it's finally getting released.
Thank you for the kind folks pointing to the beta 'demo'. It actually runs well on my lappie once I turn down the resolution. Though I wonder: who's willing to play this at 320x200? =D I quite liked what I saw, though it crashed near the end. Guess that's the whole beta part there.

I'm curious though because that demo was titled episode 1. Was the reason they took so long due to them scrapping any kind of episodic release and to make this a full and complete game instead?
That prog song on the 2nd trailer is awesome.

Really? It didn't hit my radar so far, and I visit German gaming sites almost every day. Maybe it has gained a lot of attention in indie affiliated circles, but definitly not in mainstream media. Looks promising though.
Will we ever see support for other platforms in new indie titles here? Most of them are cross-platform nowadays...

Wishlisted for now but I'll probably buy it elsewhere.
