Get your virtual table-top ready for an adventure in Temeria!

The Witcher Adventure Game, the digital installment of the board game set in the dark fantasy realm of The Witcher, is available 10% off for pre-orders, for Windows and Mac OS X, on GOG.com. That's only $8.99 until November 27, when we expect the game to launch. If you were taking part in the beta-test program for this title, you get a special (non-stackable) 40% off discount, valid until December 27.

The Witcher Adventure Game takes players on a journey across the world of the Witcher as they assume the roles of four distinct characters known from the books and video games: Geralt of Rivia, monster slayer; Triss Merigold, cunning sorceress; Yarpen Zigrin, dwarven warrior; and Dandelion, roguish bard. Each character has unique skills and multiple ways of overcoming obstacles - the choice is yours: do you fight your way to victory, call on your charm or try your hand at diplomacy? It's the true spirit of board gaming brought straight to your computer screen. Set in the mature and brutal world of The Witcher the game features 4 unique heroes with different skills and approaches to problem solving. With clear, simple rules and intuitive mechanics, tons of quest cards allow players to tell a new tale every time they play. Look adventure in the eye in a world with which you'll fall in love!

Time to research all the good-luck spells and enchantments that work on virtual dice, as you prepare to launch your first campaign in The Witcher Adventure Game, for only $8.99 (or $5.99 if you were among the beta-testers!), on GOG.com. The special pre-order discount lasts until December 4, the expected day of the game's release. The 40% off special discount for beta-test participants remains valid one month after the game's release.

**$8.99 is the discounted price for this title in the US. Other prices will apply in different countries. If you end up paying more than than the US price, we will reimburse the difference from our own pocket, giving it back to you in store credit (this is what we call the "Fair Price Package").

PaterAlf: So anothe regional priced game by CDPR. You blamed Namco Bandai for it the last time. What's your excuse for this game?

This thing is another huge setback for GOG credibility and recently you had more than you should.

JudasIscariot: I don't have and won't have that kind of information as it's way beyond me BUT you can ask this very question on the official board and thread for the game here:

Sorry but that's the best I can do :/
Thanks for the link.
Do you understand that we ask you because you are the one that, for better or for worse, have to deal with the community? And almost every times we don't get all the information we need or deserve (maybe not your fault, but still a fact). So that's not personal. There are very few way to interact with GOG, and I won't count the "direct to the spam folder" suggestion ticket. We need a way to address certain topic with some sort of feedback.

However I want to point out the fact that here on GOG it often said that you encourage publishers to release game without regional pricing and when you are not able to do so, there are reasons. So you, or at least someone from GOG should know that. Or we should simply think that a game is regional priced without reasons or negotiations? That without taking in consideration the fact that the game is published by a related company.

^ Pretty much this, and pretty disappointed to be frank. If CDPR go for regional pricing each and every time, no wonder that every indie dev and pub do the same.

CharlesGrey: Regional price discussion aside, is it any good? And is it only multi-player or is it also decently fun in single player mode? I don't know, I've been vaguely interested in this ever since it was first announced, but I'm not sure whether or not it's worth the purchase... I guess I'll at least wait until release, it's not like the 10% discount makes much of a difference.

Rinu: I was able to access only multi-player during beta, so I can't comment on single-player possibility. From what I have seen, they tried to create a rich world - each quest has multiple optional branches, there is a lot of text fluff to add just about right amount of immersion. The background music was simple and very pleasant to listen to.
What I didn't like was:

a) the inability to do anything during player's turn. The screen basically got grey and I had to just stare at the screen. I couldn't read any details of my main quest, FAQ or anything.
I can imagine it can be fun to play for both very skilled players who are already familiar with rules and walls of text everywhere and thus gameplay gets fast paced but I can also imagine it to be extremely painful if the game pick an impatient player for you (e.g. leading to cancelling the game after 20 minutes of invested time) or a beginner who likes to read everything slowly.

b) gameplay was strongly luck-based. One time my character was basically bludgeoned to death gradually by each turn while my friend's character was breezing through similarly or more dangerous locations.
You can do well and suddenly your cube starts rolling bad luck and you can't do much about it; or you can choose badly but thanks to the random easy encounters you can get a significant boost and get to the end as a winner.

Note! This might be already changed in the newer iteration. Please don't consider it to be opinion about Gold game.
Thanks for the response -- I think I'll wait until release ( or a little after ) and then possibly pick it up after reading a few more reviews. At least it's not really a big purchase. Maybe they'll even discount it further during the holiday sales? Anyhow, a little trip into the Witcher world sounds like fun, before the real deal comes next year.

+1.
Please GoG remove this regional pricing nonsense.

Perhaps there is going to be a retail version ( at least here in Europe ) so due to deals with retail publishers, DD prices are once again affected. Just a wild guess, though.

You're welcome. Sounds like a fine decision.
I enjoyed the beta and think it has a fair chance to find its faithful fans however I am not into games that are more about rolling a dice than a strategy.

PS. Marigold was seriously overpowered. He could bribe out of anything and could create money per turn. If his stats and abilities remain, the choice is obvious :P.

EDIT: Oops, I hope I didn't break the agreement. Everything except my opinion on beta (it's good, not for everyone) is already available elsewhere publicly.

Edit - wish I was a beta tester for the bonus discount...hehe

nemesismartyn: Can give you a betakey if you want one :)
Still got one to spare with friends
That would be great. I am currently at work but you can send me a message if you like. if not, I will still hop on this one... looks fun to me.
I thougth this was conceived as a freebie, in order to have a somewhat relevant modern game promoting the features of Galaxy.

"BOO!" they scream, brandishing potato forks with potatoes attached(doubles as a projectile weapon)

Someone in the crowd commands "Get your anti-regional pricing potatoes ready!"

I'd like GOG not to be so hypocritical. How can you on one hand condemn regional pricing with slogans like "One world, one price" and then have your same/sister/other company regionally price their own games? The irony is hilarious.

A boardgame? Cool!

Also : "Navel" reconnaissance? OK, that's a witcher game, so that opens plenty of possibility, even though the text is more of the naval flavour ^^

To be fair, GOG no longer advertises the "one world, one price" slogan anymore. Now it's "Fair Price Package".

That said, after all of the backtracking they did in statements after the initial, failed introduction of regional pricing, it is indeed very hypocritical.
