I've never heard of that game so I was unaware of who made it as well. to be fair Warhammer is more of a miniatures war game then a board game anyway, and Chainsaw Warrior is a card and dice game.
Weird, I was among the Beta testers but the store page tells me I have to pay $11.29 for it anyway...
I to was a beta-player however I only have the 9% pre-order discount. Which is a shame because I'd snap it up for the 40% off. Any idea why the discount is missing?

Add it to your cart. I too saw it listed with only the 10% (? I think?) discount listed, but I was curious so I added it to my cart. Showed up for $5.99 (I'm in the US).

MarioFanaticXV: And on the subject of Twilight Imperium, I'd love to try it one of these days- doubt I'd ever get my own copy, as I doubt I'd be able to bring it to the table enough to justify owning such a huge game, but I'd love to try it.
It doesn't hit my table often. Like you mentioned it's huge (both physically and gameplay), has a decently steep learning curve (we're not talking tile based wargame, but there's a lot going on) and really demands a good group of players - it's not the same playing it 1v1. I knew all this when I got it, but for some reason wanted it "in my collection." I don't have many board games, but knew, even if it saw limited play, I wanted this one.

jackster79: Same with the Game of Thrones board game.
GoT is another on my "to get" list. I read the rules a long time back (before 2nd edition) and loved them. The order tokens are not unlike Starcraft. Luckily, that one seems to have more staying power so I'm sure I'll grab it some day.

And thanks for the replies! Can't believe I missed them until now!

Funny you should mention about Twilight Imperium being huge physically. It does look cool and all that, but I had a co-worker of mine tell me it took him 6/7 hours just to separate all the pieces!!!! When he said that I thought to myself: How big is this game? I remember having to work on the plastic pieces with HeroQuest but that one did not take me that long (at least I do not think it did - twas over 20 years ago...)

As for GoT, I have read around the 'net (I think the Amazon reviews maybe) that the 2nd Edition GoT rules changes things quite a bit so the play experience may not be what you are thinking of if you only read the 1st Edition rules (unless I am thinking of another game). That being said, it sure looks like a cool game to play with a good group of folks.

Oh yeah there are hundreds of little ship pieces on plastic runners, the entire board is a series of dozens of cardboard hexes that need to be punched out; nevermind all of FFGs typical cardboard counters, tokens and such. Luckily it's all nice and thick, easy to handle quality stuff. But there's a lot of it!

As far as GoT I DID read the 1st edition rules. I remember being a bit bummed about the switch to 2nd and while I never did read the full 2nd edition rulebook I'm hoping it's close enough. I should look into the changes online or settle in and read 2nd cover to cover. I remember one of the changes that jumped right out had to do with how orders were handled. Before, "stacks" of order tokens were flipped over one by one, so there was a tactical need to decide which province the player was going to act in and when, and when to assign an order (there were risks and rewards for assigning orders to a stack in a province earlier or later). In second, it looked like all orders were revealed at once, certain orders cancelled out others and then the players act based on their remaining orders.

Damn, this thread is going to have me breaking out a boardgame sooner rather than later I think ;)
I tested it out while in beta and it looked nice, but I never played this type of the card games and don't have a flare for it. While it looks it could be interesting to someone who does, for me it was pretty strange experience. I wouldn't say it was bad, but not what I expected.

So, I would recommend this only to the fans of the modern RPG card games (sorry if I got the genre wrong :)). If you are not, it might get over your head. :)

It's a boardgame. Too much Hearthstone.

I'm not into boardgames either. :P Although I did play a simpler ones like Monopoly, Cluedo and Risk when I was younger. :)

jackster79: As would I. It IS expensive though, and it seems like one has to buy what amounts to the main game plus the two expansions before one has the complete experience.

Not to mention the fact that my gaming circle just does not have enough people who would be interested in that type of game or have the time to commit to that kind of game.

Thus, I cannot help but feel that I am losing out on an incredible gaming experience.

Same with the Game of Thrones board game.
I would add that while the first expansion is very nice for re-balancing the game the second one is not even close to required. It is nice for more options but not nearly as essential as I feel the first expansion 'fixes' the game. If you have never tried TI I would recommend a 3 hour training game with at least one experienced player to work your way through the first two or three turns to learn it before taking on a full game.

As for the Witcher Adventure game I played the beta and pre-ordered this in a heartbeat. Fun board game in digital form.

The Witcher Adventure Game... I was not part of the beta, and one thing I cannot tell for sure reading anything on the net (either here or on Fantasy Flight's page) is whether it is a co-op or PVP type game. It seems it is a little of both?

Would you be able to expand on that without breaking any NDA's?

I would not call it a co-op. I hope that helps!

Interesting. Yes, that does help - thanks!
Just wanted to ask - is there any official info that game would not be released on November 27? Or, so far, everything is going fine and we should expect the release of that game at this date?
