The Blackwell Epiphany, the fifth supernatural murder and mystery story in Wadjet Eye Games old-school point-and-click series with classic 2D graphics and a chilling story, is available for pre-order on GOG.com. For $14.99 you'll be getting the game as soon as it launches (approximately April 24), and some amazing goodies, including the extended demo available only on GOG.com!

The Blackwell Epiphany sets the atmosphere: a dead man’s soul cries out against the force of a ferocious blizzard. He cries for help. He cries for answers. Then he screams as he is torn apart like damp tissue paper. This wasn’t the first time, and it won’t be the last. The police are powerless to stop it, so the duty falls to the only ones who can. What force could be so powerful – and so malevolent – that it would destroy the very core of a life in order to get what it wants? Rosa Blackwell and Joey Mallone mean to find out, even if it means risking themselves in the process.

The Blackwell Epiphany comes with some very exciting pre-order exclusive content. For $14.99 You'll be getting an extended demo of the game (available now, only on GOG.com!), a full game soundtrack, video interviews with voice actors Abe Goldfarb (Joey) and Rebecca Whittaker (Rosa) discussing their work on the series, a New York City video tour with series creator Dave Gilbert showing and talking about the real-world locations that inspired the Blackwell games, and virtual invite to the Blackwell Epiphany launch party on the evening of April 24--all of the latter coming soon.

thuey: The GOG.com preorder exclusive is the same as the preorder exclusive you get from Wadget Eye direct (except they give you a DRM free copy and Steam-key).

Meaning that the developer wouldn't give MORE goodies to GOG than they would to their own direct preorders, so not sure why the outrage.

I had already preordered mine from Wadget Eye, since I didn't want to miss out on the preorder goodies (and I LOVE the series). Had I known GOG would have it for preorder as well (with most of the goodies, don't care for the Steam key), I probably would have waited.

Leroux: Already pre-ordered from WEG, but I didn't realize the soundtrack was an exclusive and will be a pre-order excluive on GOG, too. I pre-ordered because I wanted to support WEG and receive a game that I already know I want to play on release day, not because some bonus content tempted me to buy a product unseen. That sucks, having to read such news about your favorite developer. I hope they were just ill-advised and will reconsider, or at the very least that these were the conditions of the composer and not a marketing trick the Gilberts came up with. They should be above such things, with all the honest support they get.. :/

Senteria: Same here. :(
Same here. :(

(yes, i actually had preordered on their site as soon as i got their email, because wadjet eye blackwell games are insta-blind-buy for me, but i'm very unhappy about the fact that it comes with "exclusive bonus")

I asked Dave if I could get it from GOG since the bonus things looked pretty neat and he replied that GOG told him they don't do pre-orders. Hmm... I guess GOG changed his mind.

That's a strange thing to hear from him... I pre-ordered both Resonance and Primordia here on GOG. GOG pre-orders are even mentioned in Primordia commentary.
Why is it there's always some kind of "miscommunication" when it comes to dialog between GOG and Devs?

1) Polish.

2) GOG people are the kind that end up sitting in trees with a hitler moustache when you let them loose.
I asked him just now:

He also wrote: "GOG's policy is that they do not give out codes to distribute, so if you prefer playing/buying on GOG then you will have to make the purchase there when it becomes available", despite several indie devs giving GOG codes to their pre-order customers before (but admittedly they didn't advertise it). Those who pre-ordered from WEG will get free Steam keys though. I find that equally strange ...

Yeah, I'll give that key away to my sister. I don't do business with steam.
Couldn't resist buying. I bought the Blackwell bundle during the Insomnia sale. I wasn't quite sure whether such Indie adventures could match the old point and click classics, but I ended up absolutely loving the Blackwell games and felt bad paying so little for these gems, so I'll happily pay full price this time. Now, if I could just have a time machine that would take me to the 24th in a matter of minutes ...

A pity that this is the last in the series.

That's because pre-ordering via the Wadjet Eye site is to do so via the Humble widget, and it's standard practice (if a game is on Steam) to give a DRM-free AND a Steam key. There's a few titles that are different (I actually have the ability to redeem Def Quest here on GOG, but I already have it here), but generally Humble is DRM-free and/or Steam.

I'm pretty sure I was told that GOG wouldn't be getting a pre-order (hence why I got it through Humble, when I truly want it here), and as others noticed, GOG did do pre-orders on some previous Wadjet Eye titles. Like... nearly two years ago.

But hey... I've already paid for it, already redeemed my key. Will certainly pick up a second copy on GOG when it goes on sale though.
Awesome. Too bad I have already bought it from a developer since you were claiming you don't support the pre-order. Well, maybe during a deep sale.

Very excited about the release. This month is pretty heavy on adventure games.

When has GOG said they don't support pre-releases?! I had Broken Sword 5 pre-released, Primordia (a Wadjet Eye game) had a pre-release. Both of those were announced way before Epiphany, so I don't know where Dave Gilbert got the notion GOG doesn't do pre-releases.

I, for one, am not pre-releasing this one. The best Wadjet Eye games aren't even Wadjet Eye developed, and as much as I like the Blackwell series, the last one was a bit of a disappointment. I'm in no hurry to get this, especially not at this price point.

groze: When has GOG said they don't support pre-releases?! I ...
GOG hadn't supported pre-releases until recently and since then it has been a possibility, not sure thing.

Blackwell is my favorite game/series from Wadjet Eye and I would buy it a day one anyway, so I don't see a reason why not give an indie developer $ sooner.
This is just what i was asking for! Great GOG and WEG =)
I thought this would be an insta-buy for me, but $15 is quite steep. Maybe I'd consider it if it were a full season pass, but just a single entry in the series is a tad too rich for my blood.

Ah well, no doubt there'll be a sale at some point in the future.
