RodolphoZatanas: Here's a question: RotT had some rather varied music, how's the new game in the music department?
I think I can answer that. Or rather, Gamespot can. This video is all about how the new ROTT soundtrack remains true to the original's, but with a modern (and somewhat heavier) take on the game's classic tunes.

I guess a question would be is Duke Nukem 3D: Reloaded ever going to see the light of day... Forever has sold all its going to sell it seems... so why not right? :)

BTW I wanted to thank you guys for releasing on GOG.com and not just going though steam. It really means a lot that you would think of your fans and of the DRMfree movement.
Wow, I am *so* stoked for this - the videos I've seen indicate that this has so many great elements that are missing in most FPS games today - fast gameplay, environmental hazards, a vibrant and dynamic color palette, and so many other things.

That said, I instantly wonder whether the Steam release will be preferable to the GOG release due to Steamworks, i.e., the multiplayer. Anyway, I'm mainly in it for the single-player, but I'm still curious...

(I'm also really excited for the Shadow Warrior remake which seems to have an even more vibrant color scheme - gameplay is up in the air, of course, for now since they've only released a teaser afaik.)
I played ROT after it was released....was a little troublesome to get here in Germany ;-)
Bought it and the bonus games from GOG.
ROTT wasn't one of the best FPS, hell it wasn't even a good one. Only the level of gore
were an argument for buying (or in most cases pirating) it.
First planed as an addon for Wolfenstein 3D it was a hugh dissapointment.
The graphics were mushy bugged.
So maybe (a very big maybe) i will buy it AFTER it is released and tested.
Looking at the game here it does look quite fun. Yet there is little connecting both Rise of the Triads together as either remake or continuation.
I get the entire nostalgia for a game you like, but why not release it under a new name rather then using an IP owned by someone else? Why go for a reboot rather then going under your own game?
Ah, I saw this news post on my way out the door this morning and was waiting all day to get home and pre-order it. :)

And a little question for the devs: As far as making a game goes, would you say it was easier re-making a classic game that you're passionate about or bringing one of your own ideas to life?
I was sold on getting this game day one from the preview video I saw with TB a while back that was topped off with GOG and $15. Throw in three games I don't already have here on top of that? My money is yours! Waiting on ROTT classic to see if it would be a pre-order bonus paid off.

For the question part: What were some of the factors that made you feel now was a good time to revisit the ROTT franchise?
(sad face)....

If I pre-order this... Well I already BOUGHT the original, and both Blake Stone episodes! LOL
Doesnt mean I wont be ordering it though!! :D Waited a loooong time for this!

You could always drop them on the ninja thread. We'd be grateful to swipe them up from ya ;D
Here's a question for Interceptor...

With so many small and large developers (especially of multiplayer titles) opting to tie every version of their game to Steamworks, what made you decide to release a DRM-free version, on launch day no less?
Delete this post, I found the answer on the first page :p

Cool, I think I'll try a demo first though.

The graphics appear like a budget title, but I'm hoping the "gameplay" will be up to scratch.

I was thinking I might be the only one to have this opinion, glad to see I'm not alone. I also played the original game when it was released. It was gorier than other FPS and you had things like the executions which was brand new, but after the "new" factor wore off, that didn't add anything to the game. Some of the features, like the jump plates, were just annoying. I thought it was just average. I don't remember it being that successful commercially but I could be completely wrong (probably am based on it being brought back).

This is not a comment on how the new game might be, I hope people enjoy it. I haven't played it so I couldn't judge - only my thoughts about the original.
Question #1:
Exist any cheat to switch triad logos to real nazi logos (savastika atc.)?
I want kill "real" nazi ;-)

Question #2:
How much hidden Easter eggs is in new RoT

Poke question:
Is thinking about a version for GNU/Linux?
