From the depths of first-person shooter history a legendary game arises, reborn to deliver yet another generation of gamers onto the pastures red with blood and guts! The title that succeeded in turning the 1994 holiday season into a trigger-happy fragtastic mayhem has been given a new lease on life and is on its way to our computer screens. Sporting top-notch modern graphics and animation it will also retain its original gory-but-funny spirit, skillfully catering both to our nostalgia and modern gaming needs. Yes, Rise of the Triad is coming to GOG.com, and pre-ordering today comes with special benefits!

Rise of the Triad has everything that made its predecessor so memorable, from zany weapons, through gory visuals, down to the frantic multi-player mayhem. Talking about multi-player, our DRM-free version will be mulitplayer-compatible with all other versions, so you'll get to go fragging your friends whatever their preferred game delivery system might be. While the game looks and feels very 2013, the developers went out of their way to recreate that special RotT feel. Just look!

N0t4n0ther: @gog when do we find out who won the additional $9.99 game??
Well I would assume it's when they post the Q&A...... which pretty much gives you the same question again.

Hi, I thought this was the Q&A, I asked a question and it got answered by a developer.
A redundant question I think, but still a question for the devs:

How did you go about balancing the gameplay dynamics and design between the original RotT and this revisioning? How much did "keeping the feel of the original" factor into the way the game was modernized?

IAmSinistar: Dang, I was going to pre-order this but I have a Radeon 3820. Is it possible I can downgrade some graphic setting to make it run, or is minimum literally that and I would be wasting my time?
@IAmSinistar - Do you mean that you have the AMD A8-3820 APU chip (I wasn't able to find any references to a Radeon 3820 GPU in my Google searches)? If so, that means you actually have a Radeon 6550 GPU so you'll be able to run the game. So pre-order away! :)

Oop, yah, spot on there! That's the processor I gots. Sorry, I am from the old days when all you had was a CPU (and that was a Motorola 68K chip). I appreciate the clarification and will certainly get the game now.

By the way, I have no interest in the Blake Stone games that come bundled with it, so if you like you can have those. Otherwise I'll do a trade/giveaway of the them.

Thanks!

I don't mean to derail this thread, but I love your avatar. "I Live". OT: I very excited about the redux version, I think it's going to be a lot of fun.
Min reqs say NVidia 8800 GT or better. Where can I find a chart or something that lists nvidia cards in rank? I have a GT 620 with 2GB ddr3 memory - is that way below the min nvidia reqs?

July 31 is tomorrow...

This is the first time that I pre-buy anything and I just hope my system can play it as it is a few years old and was not bought as a gaming rig. I think the worst thing that might happen is that I have to upgrade the video card.

I might play the original today to put me back in the mood. I remember it being a lot of fun with the only "down" point being the jumping platforms, they could be fun but their presence did not make a lot of sense.
Does anyone know what time the game is coming out?
Decision time...
Soundtrack is only sample tracks?

I'd guess 10:00am GMT.
Hey I pre-ordered the game a few days ago, but I don't have the other games that they promised with the pre-order. Why is it that I don't have the games yet.

Check your e-mail. You should have them somewhere there. See also this.

Enjoy your games :)
I think I accidentally deleted that e-mail.
I'm on vacation and I am downloading ROTT as we speak... anyone going to be playing multiplayer any time soon? Would love to see how I hold up against you guys :D.
