The title that succeeded in turning the 1994 holiday season into a trigger-happy fragtastic mayhem has been given a new lease on life and is on its way to our computer screens. Sporting top-notch modern graphics and animation it will also retain its original gory-but-funny spirit, skillfully catering both to our nostalgia and modern gaming needs. Yes, Rise of the Triad is coming to GOG.com, and pre-ordering today comes with special benefits!

Rise of the Triad has everything that made its predecessor so memorable, from zany weapons, through gory visuals, down to the frantic multi-player mayhem. Talking about multi-player, our DRM-free version will be mulitplayer-compatible with all other versions, so you'll get to go fragging your friends whatever their preferred game delivery system might be. While the game looks and feels very 2013, the developers went out of their way to recreate that special RotT feel. Just look!

Crosmando: The only "demands" of modern FPS gamers would be sticky cover, regenerating health, and super-easy default difficulty, which in a RoTT style game would just ruin everything.

Fuck em, they go play cawadoody on their Xbawks
You forgot painfully linear level design and (often un-skippable) cut-scenes littered everywhere. I REALLY hope this game will have large and complex maps to explore and I would even welcome the old school key-card system to keep you out of certain areas until you find the key to unlock it in order to ensure players visit and explore everywhere.
Awesome! I'll probably pre-order this payday. Off-topic; I cannot wait for Age of Wonders 3 to show up here.
It's and its are different things, GoG guys. Learn some bloody grammar. But anyway... HELL , I'm eager to try this new ROTT. Maybe I'll pre-order on payday. ;)

grynn: google translate does wonders

Kristian: I didn't use it or any aid like it.
:D I was joking, you guys speak danish in faroe islands right?

BTW could a developer answer this one? There will be a some sort of account system or serials for multiplayer, right?

grynn: DRM-free multiplayer in 2013? WHAT'S GOING ON?!

I hope there is at least a CDKey / GUID system, otherwise it's gonna be a hacker fest with pirated games.

AmarKing: Hi Frederik, I didn't even know this is a Danish project, how cool! : D

Det ser sjovt ud selvom jeg ikke har noget forhold til det oprindelige spil. Har allerede forudbestilt det sammen med det gode tilbud ; )

Kristian: Translation: This is fun looking even though he hasn't played the original. He preordered immediately together with the good offer.
Thanks for your translation, I would never have guessed people were curious about the meaning of our exotic language ; )

With a native language of about 50k native speakers vs your language with about 5m native speakers I trump you in the excoticness(not really a word is it?) department! :P :)
Here's my question for the developers:

When you were putting this game together, did anyone bring anything to the table that you decided was too much, even for this game? If so, can you share details?
Has anyone already asked if they would like to remake Blake Stone games in the future?
Nice pre release. Looks pretty good.
Question for devs:

Will playable characters still have different statistics? For example in original game Doug Wendt was basically tank type, lots of health but not so fast while on other side there was that Chinese girl, Lorelei Ni has lowest health but very fast and accurate.

Love the way this game looks.

1. Do we get a manual save option? The original has it.
2. Will we be able to save anywhere and at anytime? I can with the original.
3. Will it have more than one save slot? The original does.

These are important things to many old school gamers.
If you want me to preorder, which I would love to do, then the answer needs to be yes to all three questions. Otherwise this is a game I might pick up for $2.50 in a couple of years time if I'm even interested at that time.

PS: Chop chop on the answer. Not much longer left to preorder.

What made them decide to remake this particular Apogee/3D Realms game over the others?
Big question here is...

How enriching will the story line be? What emotional depths can we feel for these characters?
Oh no paypal balance <$15 noooooo oh well I have time before this comes out to still preorder

It's probably the one they still had the rights to.
