The title that succeeded in turning the 1994 holiday season into a trigger-happy fragtastic mayhem has been given a new lease on life and is on its way to our computer screens. Sporting top-notch modern graphics and animation it will also retain its original gory-but-funny spirit, skillfully catering both to our nostalgia and modern gaming needs. Yes, Rise of the Triad is coming to GOG.com, and pre-ordering today comes with special benefits!

Rise of the Triad has everything that made its predecessor so memorable, from zany weapons, through gory visuals, down to the frantic multi-player mayhem. Talking about multi-player, our DRM-free version will be mulitplayer-compatible with all other versions, so you'll get to go fragging your friends whatever their preferred game delivery system might be. While the game looks and feels very 2013, the developers went out of their way to recreate that special RotT feel. Just look!

frederik.schreib: Hi Fellow GOG'ers.
My Name is Frederik Schreiber, and im the Game Director on Rise of the Triad, and the CEO at Interceptor Entertainment. If you have any questions about the game, feel free to ask, and ill do my best to answer them :)
I have a question:

Is there an option to enable subtitles for cutscenes and FMV? (if there are any).
Do you see this game as being niche or mainstream. How have you chosen to balance the demands of both retro and modern gamers?
What movies did you watch to inspire the graphics for the game?
What was the single most difficult part of making the game, in your guys' opinion?

How will modding with the GOG version be handled vs the Steam version?

Why develop a new Rise of the Triad now? Is it just for the nostalgia? Is this new game going to bring anything new to Rise of the Triad or even the genre itself in your opinions?
My question is: There is an animation for removing the jumpy eyes off the screen?
It would be so hilarious!
Ugh!! I hate remakes and re-dos etc... Why not just ROTT 2 or something. I am glad to see an older title get a second chance, and I hope it does quite well. I would have liked to see a new addition though.

Disclaimer:

If I have misunderstood what this title is and it is a new entry in the series then shame on me. Please disregard this post. If not.....see above.

"...it will also retain its original gory-but-funny spirit, skillfully catering both to our nostalgia and modern gaming needs."

-Will we be able to carry more than two weapons at a time?
-Will their be regenerating health instead of health packs?
-How moddable will this game be? Any examples of how far one can go with modding?

Also:
-Will we get a n FOV slider in the options menu? Are we given a good amount of options to play with in the menus?
Answers to your questions (sort-of):

1. The 'original' Rise of the Triad allowed you to carry two pistols and an MP-40, however, you could only ever carry one 'heavy' weapon at a time.
2. I have no idea (Sorry!)
3. Interceptor (Or whoever maintains the ROTT site) says that you will be able to modify the game. To what extent, is beyond me.

Hope this helps.
Question for the Devs: What was the most interesting Enemy type or Boss that you like the most? Which one did you have the most fun working on for this game?
I pre ordered Rise of the Triads as soon as I could but I didn't get any of the black stone games. I have also taken this up with support.

The codes for the free games should be in the email GOG sent you after you completed the transaction.
Does anyone know the history behind why RoTT got it's source-code released, but the Blake Stone games didn't?
Looks interesting enough for a punt, cheers :)
Looks good abit like a mash up of Serious Sam and Wolfenstein.
I was never a big fan of the the original though. I hated the boxy levels and mazes.
I gave up half way though the game when I needed a play guide to figure out where to go to finish the levels.

Loved Blake Stone though. A remake of that would be awesome.
