We didn't choose the thug life. We've been blessed with it by fate.

Omerta: City of Gangsters, an organized crime simulation that will let you dominate 1920s Atlantic City as a mafia boss, is available for pre-order on GOG.com for only $33.99. That's 15% off the regular price! The offer ends on Thursday, January 31, at 10:59AM GMT, when the game is released.

Omerta. Remember the word. Back in the day, I wouldn't have to lay it out for you, kid. Everybody knew how it works, even a complete cafone. You don't talk to the law. There. Easy as that. Anyone who talks is a rat. And a rat deserves to be popped, just as any vermin. So, whether you are a made man, a goodfella, a wiseguy, or just a thug, you live by that one simple rule. You never talk. Even if the coppers ask you to rat out your worst enemy. Even if by telling them something you could easily wipe out your whole competition. You don't do that. You just don't. Unless you want to end up like Eddie the Eel. Funnily enough, it turned out that he couldn't swim. At least not in the concrete boots he couldn't. But I digress, kid. There's really just one thing you need to remember: Omerta. As in: shut your pie-hole. Capisce?

Omerta: City of Gangsters brings life to the prohibition-era Atlantic City, where you struggle for power against the law enforcement and--most notably--other mob families. It's a multi-layered urban simulation complete with turn-based tactical combat. You're an aspiring gangster slowly recruiting a gang of partners in crime, working your way up the criminal food-chain, and hoping to--one day--become the Capo di tutti Cappi, the boss of all bosses. With over 15 hours of gameplay in each unique playthrough, 20 detailed territories to claim as your own, and a cooperative or competitive multiplayer modes Omerta: City of Gangsters is the organized crime simulator we've been waiting for!

Pre-order Omerta: City of Gangsters before Thursday, January 31, at 10:59AM GMT for only $33.99!

Oh, by the way--since this is a pre-order, this technically doesn't count as our 500th release. You'll have to wait for that till tomorrow, and there's a good reason to visit as then, as we have something special planned to go with that milestone.

But now, back to Omerta:

It's great to see new, DRM-free games from non-indie developers. However, this genre leaves me cold.
I'm a huge fan of JA series. Hope this is good. Won't buy until I read some reviews.

*fingers crossed* but yeah.. awesome price for a new DRM free game. GO, GOG GO!!!
Hah, can't watch the video in Germany because of "content from UMG", whoever those folks are...
I actually considered getting this one, even if it was to promote new games appearing in GOG. However, I don't like buying games I haven't already played or have strong recommendations about (specially ones at this price). And after reading the comments here and seeing nobody has the slightest clue regarding the quality of this game, I think I'll pass (for now).

btw, I did a quick search on tpb to see if I was lucky enough to find something I could use to pre-test the game, but no luck. I did however find a surprising amount of porn, including some strange "alien abduction rape". Now I'm really curious as to where did this word come from, I'll have to look it up when I've got some time.

What does this have to do with JA? Hell, even JA:BiA is only JA in name...
That's like calling the Matiz a Chevrolet...

Likewise (also in Germany). UMG is Universal Media Group iirc, so likely it uses some of their music which they've given YouTube US the right to play (for which they get kickback) but limited in other regions. (Prob works in UK, Canada okay)

ne_zavarj: So GOG refused The Cat Lady , Academagia: The Making of Mages and 1931: Scheherazade at the Library of Pergamum but can't say " No " to a not yet released Kalypso game .

Well i think this is one of those games that i will not miss from my collection .
Interesting games there, especially Scheherazade, which I just voted for on Steam Greenlight. I would have much preferred a GOG version, but oh well, GOG's loss is Steam's gain. Can't say I'm surprised, even Xenonauts was not good enough for GOG.

gameon: There i was thinking this was the 500th game addition. But as it's a pre-release, it doesn't count yet. Lol, was this GOG being clever again ;)
Not yet, but tomorrow right?

It's Universal Music Group. The background song in the video is "Sittin' on top of the world". Not shure who's performing it. I have no problems watching it here in Austria, so I guess you can thank the GEMA again.

The trailer isn't too exciting anyway. Shows just automated environmental scenes to get an idea of the ingame atmosphere. Reminds me of the Mafia intro. No gameplay whatsoever. I recommend this one instead:

Similar trailer. Shorter but more to the point. And the same music, by the way.

Hmm.. tactical turn-based combat. There's similarities. Just a different setting. I don't know. I'm tired I thought it might be similar. I never played JA:BiA. I only played JA1/2+some mods. :D I heard Back in Action is not so great, but Omerta might be alright regardless.

GOG.com: become the Capo di tutti Cappi
It should be "Capo di tutti i Capi", or "Capo dei Capi".
