We didn't choose the thug life. We've been blessed with it by fate.

Omerta: City of Gangsters, an organized crime simulation that will let you dominate 1920s Atlantic City as a mafia boss, is available for pre-order on GOG.com for only $33.99. That's 15% off the regular price! The offer ends on Thursday, January 31, at 10:59AM GMT, when the game is released.

Omerta. Remember the word. Back in the day, I wouldn't have to lay it out for you, kid. Everybody knew how it works, even a complete cafone. You don't talk to the law. There. Easy as that. Anyone who talks is a rat. And a rat deserves to be popped, just as any vermin. So, whether you are a made man, a goodfella, a wiseguy, or just a thug, you live by that one simple rule. You never talk. Even if the coppers ask you to rat out your worst enemy. Even if by telling them something you could easily wipe out your whole competition. You don't do that. You just don't. Unless you want to end up like Eddie the Eel. Funnily enough, it turned out that he couldn't swim. At least not in the concrete boots he couldn't. But I digress, kid. There's really just one thing you need to remember: Omerta. As in: shut your pie-hole. Capisce?

Omerta: City of Gangsters brings life to the prohibition-era Atlantic City, where you struggle for power against the law enforcement and--most notably--other mob families. It's a multi-layered urban simulation complete with turn-based tactical combat. You're an aspiring gangster slowly recruiting a gang of partners in crime, working your way up the criminal food-chain, and hoping to--one day--become the Capo di tutti Cappi, the boss of all bosses. With over 15 hours of gameplay in each unique playthrough, 20 detailed territories to claim as your own, and a cooperative or competitive multiplayer modes Omerta: City of Gangsters is the organized crime simulator we've been waiting for!

Pre-order Omerta: City of Gangsters before Thursday, January 31, at 10:59AM GMT for only $33.99!

Oh, by the way--since this is a pre-order, this technically doesn't count as our 500th release. You'll have to wait for that till tomorrow, and there's a good reason to visit as then, as we have something special planned to go with that milestone.

But now, back to Omerta:

shows 500 games available, so...

About the game: I love that genre and the setting, but there are still enough games around like this. Without not knowing the game, what makes it special in comparison to Chicago 1930?

gameon: Wha? When i checked it still said 499.

Is this supposed to be the Booby Trap game????
No, while the gamespage shows 500 I'm sure the big happening will be tomorrow. It seems gog forgot about the counter while they decided to offer the game for pre-sale. I'm sure we will see BT tomorrow, the waiting goes on ;-)

G-Doc: No.
It's a bit confusing that the game counter says 500 though. Surely the big 500th game (probably tomorrow) would be 501...............!

Me too now, it seems they fixed it.
501st listed but 500th released, but yes it does make things a little more complicated!
That's a NEW Kalypso game: Will it be really released without their DRM? (Tropico 4 is DRMed by Kalypso wherever we buy it).
If sold on GOG, I think the answer is YES: That's the start of the success of anti-drm revolution, due to us, true pc players, and GOG.
At first I was "the setting is interesting enough but I have too much games already!". The I saw this: turn-based tactical combat. I love turn-based games! I'm still waiting to see what tomorrow brings but now this game has suddenly become more interesting.
Awesome! I asked a friend yesterday if there's any new interesting releases around the corner and two interested me of the list he sent me, this and Dark.
Looks really interesting, but the price is too steep. Might have to pick this one up though once it's aged enough to have a $10 price tag.
Love the idea and the genre, but it's too much for a potentially dodgy title. I'm going to wait a year.
Neat. I noticed it on GamersGate a few days ago, and I'd been looking up a bunch of stuff about it. I finally decided to go ahead and wishlist it a few hours ago. That didn't last long, as now I have it on my wishlist on GOG instead. :P

...not going to pre-order it, though. Definitely seems like something that should get a few reviews first, for starters. That, and I'm in no rush to play it. It looks promising, but I'll see how it is if the reviews are decent and when the price is cheap.
Wait a minute, this game is also coming out on Xbox 360......

No.
Looks like Gangland, to the wishlist it shall go.
Wow! What a nice surprise! All this while I thought it's gonna be Steamed.
