A new "Fair Price Package" detailed.

As per today's update on getting back to our roots ([url=http://www.gog.com/news/getting_back_to_our_roots]which you can read here) we are happy to offer a new fair price package for Age of Wonders 3. We've made sure that the price difference is by largely covered by the extra gift codes you'll receive, so here's our updated pre-order offer, which will go live in the next two weeks:

The Fair Price Package for our UK customers affected by local prices is now one $9.99 code for anyone who buys the Standard Edition, and two $5.99 codes for the Deluxe Edition.

For other European customers affected by local prices the Fair Price Package for Standard Edition is now one $9.99 code and one $5.99 code, and for the Deluxe Edition it's three $5.99 codes.

If you already pre-ordered Age of Wonders 3 and received the bonus game gift from us, we'll send you the remaining gift codes to meet the new Fair Price Pacage offer detailed above. If your price difference happened to be $10.00 and you've already selected and redeemed a $5.99 game, please contact support so they can replace it with any of our $9.99 games for you.

Another thing--when the pre-order offer was launched you could pick a game from a selection of titles. We did not give you the freedom of choice and we would like to fix it. If for any reason you're unhappy with the pick of games that we offered and you ended up with something you're not entirely satisfied with, we invite you to pick something else from our catalog instead. Just contact our customer support and we'll be happy to exchange your free title for another game of the same price range.

If any of this seems unintuitive to you, our customer support team will be happy to help you. We do hope that this kind of "Fair Price Package" makes much more sense to you and that everyone's experience with getting their game from GOG.com will be as pleasant as we always aim for it to be.

GOG.com would like to thank Triumph Studios, the fantastic development team behind Age of Wonders 3, for working with us to make this offer possible.

JudasIscariot: It's for folks outside the US as compensation for regional pricing.

Silverhawk170485: Ok so when can I expect the codes? Maybe I like to spend some on thursday. :D

Are the codes only redeemable for games with exactly the same price or can they be combined for buying a more expensive game?
I think a payment system with something like GOG Coins would make sense sometime in the future. I mean the same thing Gamersgate does with it's Blue Coins. So you can buy any game at any price by saving up coins.
Currently, codes will only be redeemable for games whose full retail price that is equal or lesser than the value of the code. Eventually, we'll have a system of store credit (which will be substantially longer than two weeks before it shows up) and then things will work with partial payments via credit.

I'm also happy with the way like it is now but such a credit system would be more comfortable.

Will I get a commission if my suggestion will be implemented? :D

JudasIscariot: Me too as I'd like to see the finale of the series for myself :)

Senteria: The new blackwell game, AoW 3, and episode 2 of Broken Sword all at the end of March. Not good for my studies.
Was Epiphany's release date ever confirmed? I've not seen anything to suggest it's this month.

Reever: Damn, as I said, I'm hoping you guys won't go bankrupt because of this.
The same thoughts here...
Faith restored. May you be successful in all your business endeavors GOG as long as you stay true to your core principles.
Guys. many thanks for this. GOG has definitely proven once again it's relationship with their customers.

I wasn't planning on it, but because of this I will buy AOW3 by the end of the month.

Edit: Better wording.

In light of the improved revised stance on regional tomfoolery i overlooked the pre order exclusive bull, this once, and pre ordered the deluxe edition.

Keep true, GOG, don't fuck it up.
Very well done.

I was loosing my faith in GOG :)

It has been restored again..
Nice one GOG. This has me reconsidering my stance on this game now. I do like a good turn-based strategy after all.

Reever: I...actually don't understand. The prices stayed like there were before, didn't they? You just got extra codes...so where's the problem? What did I miss?
For me AoW3 is €23.99 (32.99$) and Deluxe is €28.99 (39.99$). While I was writing my post it was $39.99 and $44.99 for Deluxe, which wasn't that good for me, apparently. But now it's back to €23.99 / €28.99, so my post is not valid anymore.

Ah okay, good thing the old price is back ;)

Lol GOG coins don't get them started (just see mt.gox; although of course so far dogecoin is looking strong).
Good work gog :D
Now we just need more $6 games... seems a little weird the 3 $6 ones for the deluxe package.

Hi!

Two questions:

1) I'm from Brazil ! In case of preordering AoW3 , do I still get the gitt codes ?

2) From GOG's post: "when the pre-order offer was launched you could pick a game from a selection of titles. We did not give you the freedom of choice and we would like to fix it. If for any reason you're unhappy with the pick of games that we offered and you ended up with something you're not entirely satisfied with, we invite you to pick something else from our catalog instead. "

If I preorder now, will I be able to choose any games from GOG's catalog ?

Thanks!

Djaron: unless you consider the usual shit about "box+disc physical copy doesnt work unless you connect to internet and redeem the steam/activation code enclosed in the box copy" (and i dont mention even the "need to stay connected to play solo game" also)
FYI, boxed copies are steam codes.
avatar
Senteria: Now I don't have to hide from the GOG community for contributing to the regional pricing scheme by having had AoW 3 pre-ordered already.
I thought I saw you already mention it somewhere? Perhaps I just assumed.
