The original EotB was my first computer game, and I loved it. I've keep hoping to see the set on GoG someday.

Needless to say, I've preordered LoG also as it looks to scratch some of my EoB itch. I may even try to go old-school and play without automap.
Reminds me of so many old school games. I loved those old first person D&D games like Eye of the Beholder and the uber classic Treasure of Tarmin for the Intellivision. Grimrock is an insta preorder, can't wait!!!!
This game reminds me of Orcs and Elves on the NDS
I'm very excited about this game. It reminds me of Ultima Underworld. It looks really great and the interface seems nice too from what I could tell in the videos I've watched. I'm glad it is coming to GOG without DRM. That rocks. Great price too for what appears to be a polished quality game in a genre I love.

Has anyone heard any info about how long the game is roughly in hours to play through? I don't know if the developer has made any mention of that anywhere. I haven't seen it if they have.

I think that is something hard to tell since it is diffrent from person to person one can spend 40 hours on a game while others finish it in 25 it depends on the skill of the player I mostly take longer since i explore every inch. And i die a lot :) but others may rush trough as if it is nothing.

That's a good point. I tend to be slow too just because I am slow. I also poke around and explore, take in the sights, etc. and am in no hurry when playing. A lot of times though people or the developers themselves will give a rough ballpark and that's what I was wondering about, more along the lines of is it just a few hours or does it tend to be long kind of thing.

True but games like this is a bit harder and more risk to tell the player because its lvl based exampke eob 2 woods, darkmoon termple, If you know the lvls then you can easely finish the game quickly and you get a lower estamate on how many hours you finish the game for example you know the lvls then its 6 hours but if you need to explore everything and do the puzzles and times you die you come to 12 to 15 hours.
Oh my GOG! I cant Effin' Run this game!

Looks amazing though. Probably have to buy it and prey I get my new rig soon....ouch.
So is it sad that I am only 1/2 done ME3 and want to stop so that I can play this instead? I am enjoying ME3, but this game seriously has my nostalgia fires burning. Maybe by the time I am done and go back to ME3, there will be 30 new DLC's including some new endings.. ;-p (have not experienced the ending yet, so I can't really judge it until then). This game seems to have reminded most people of other games, but this screams stonekeep for me. Needless to say, I love stonekeep (despite its flaws). Going to bed thinking about this game... Want to play... now.... zzzzzz......

Another Intellivision fan!! *highfive* :-)

I *loved* Treasure of Tarmin! I still remember the times I would leave the machine running (disconnected) overnight when I had a particularly promising game, hoping that it would not have frozen or reset when I came back to play the next day . . . losing my first midas book to a reset, losing countless characters to bombs . . . my first encounter with a glowing door . . . that glorious first Minotaur kill (and then finding that deep-level Wraiths still induce panic and mad button-mashing to try to avoid combat . . .)

Recently played a bit on an emulator, and apparently years of gaming have trained me well - it was a LOT easier than I remembered it being (no, I wasn't using savestates). It was still a blast though, and had some funny moments - I killed 3 Minotaurs in one 2x2 room in my second game (with one or two more on the same level!).

(Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Cloudy Mountain was pretty fun too, and a much quicker game. Certainly more panic-inducing - nothing like being low on health and ammo, then finding that all the rooms around the ominous monster sound have the dreaded twisty passages (or are blocked by the invincible blob), inching toward the target and then retreating in a blind panic, firing wildly and killing yourself with a reflected arrow - still, even the sound effects from either game are enough to send me on a nostalgia trip, even Cloudy Mountain's nightmarish "you're being devoured" sound.)

MIK0: This is what a developer replied about a user asking info about the standalone installer that come with the game bought on the official site.
"It's the same version GOG sells."

So what's the point in buying it on GOG if the other one is the same plus steam key plus more money to developer?
For me personally, it is so that when I finally download the game (DRM-free installer), I don't have to hunt it down from various developer sites, but one place.

But if they offer both the Steam key and the DRM-free installer for the same price from the developer site, I agree that may the way to go for many. That's what I did to the Android Indie bundles, for the Windows versions I both downloaded the DRM-free installers to my private repository, and enabled the games on Steam, not having all my eggs only in one USB hard disk. Naturally I downloaded and installed also the DRM-free Android versions (.apk files).

But, if I have a GOG version, I usually have no reason to download it also from Steam (even for free), so meh.

ANYWAYS, it seems my PC doesn't probably measure up to the HW requirements of this game, so I'll pass it anyway for now. I wasn't expecting it to have "high" HW requirements, considering it is a Dungeon Master/EoB clone. It is as if a turn-based strategy game, or a text adventure, would suddenly have very high HW requirements.

I think I'll play Arx Fatalis instead for the time being.

towerbooks3192: Does the might and magic series play like this?

If so then I will buy that while waiting for this

andriy: Try Stonekeep, it plays and looks like this. Was probably one of the LoG inspirations.
I totally agree, it's best inspiration from Stonekeep to LoG and also great story.

Tormentfan: I'm all for paying for due effort, and when gog rewrite an installer for current OS's that's great and they deserve every penny.. but when they do nothing except what amounts to a few posts I don't see that they are due any profit from it.

Go buy it from the dev...
And you think that Steam doesn't charge for the ability to use a Steam key in connection with a game ?
Anyway , GOG.com also is giving download of what they sell and no matter that they sell DRM free they are still a seller/Merchant so I think that GOG deserves their cut and are entitled to same... And b.t.w. GOG might be small compared to Steam (Wish it were the other wway around) but GOG still does publicity work in conection with the game (albeit so they can also sell the game themselves) and they have all you guys discussing , preordering , whatever - all which in the end ought to amount to something also...

B.t.w. With respect to previous posts I've written then I were not completely aware that it were a brand new game, I must however still maintain that it ought to be allowed and is quite OK to question the price of anything - including peoples fav.. indie games.......

As Dungeon Master is still in my games favourite top 10 im looking at this title with interest.
Soo, any chance we can get mod tools for this game and make a custom Remake of the Eye of the Beholder games?
