Loonie: Preordered for three reasons:

1) I want to support indie studios,
2) I was always hoping GOG would carry their model to new games.
3) It does actually look quite good.

ne_zavarj: And no $1 = 1€ crap on GOG .

I have to make a decision : Legend of Grimrock or Skyrim .
The big deal with Skyrim is the huge world.
Grimrock remembers the Ultima Underworld, 1000 times more sofisticated of course. Dungeons in Skyrim are very poor, most dungeons do not have traps or a decent puzzle, and gosh.. are short. Grimrock looks amazing with this.
All right, I guess I'll preorder then. Thanks to everybody that replied.

elrond99: What bonus do I get by paying in preorder? Isn't it the same if I wait till release and pay then?

spindown: You save $3 by preordering.

I guess Grimrock will have more replay value.
Looks cool!! I would have never imagined someone would try to make a "New" old school game like this. I am totally into it and glad that I saw it on here. Looks like StoneKeep on steroids!! :-) Definitely will pre-order!! If any of the game devs are reading this, thank you for thinking outside of the box and making a game for this audience!!

Oh man, if GOG could get Skyrim, I think my head would explode. Metaphorically.
Are people purchasing Legend of Grimrock getting it added to their gameshelves properly? I'm having trouble redeeming gift code for the game.
This looks great!

I remember shelling out £50 back in '89 for Dungeon Master and the additional 512Mb needed to run it on my Amiga.

I then lived some strange nocturnal life for the next fortnight or so, playing it.

I certainly be buying this title.
reminds me of one of my alltime favs..Dungeon Master on the Atari ST...

preordered as soon as I saw it...

Looks great..

all GOG needs to do now is get the Bards Tale trilogy on here...
I think GOG should have made an agreement with the developer to give a copy of the game on gog when buying from the official site.
They offer a standalone version plus a steam key and are actually recommanding this choice on their forum.

Considering "their store" is being powered by the Humble Bundle guys, who are also rolling out a system where you can gather all your Humble Bundle purchases (and presumably all your Humble Store purchases such as this one) onto one page, might be wise for the GOG guys to get on it.

anjohl: $11.99 as a discount? .....and our quaint little hole in the wall just took one giant leap towards mediocrity.

Taxonomic: Are you serious? This is a game that uses Shader Model 3 and has the kind of visuals you'd normally find in a shelved big name publisher's title....and you think 11.99 is too much?

Unless you think GOG's purpose is to offer dirt cheap games and anything over 9.99 betrays that "law".

11.99 is incredibly cheap for this style of game...or for any game, really. If you cannot afford 11.99 for a game then I would suggest going back to school and getting a degree so you can get a job that pays marginally well.
It's the gameplay I pay for.... Are you seriously suggesting that it should be dearer because it's shiney?.. There's only a few hours gameplay in it for god's sake... there are far cheaper games here with orders of magnitude more and BETTER gameplay.

I don't get dazzled by graphics.

Oh my !!! would I love that :)
Seing new games released on GOG is a welcome evolution. So I show my support by placing a pre-order.

So now we have a new price tag, but not for "Classic games". Let's hope that in a couple of months someone sees the potential for using this price tag for bundles of classic games or for games for which the 9.99 price tag is unrealistic.
Hopefully they release a demo, never played a game like this before. but it looks interested.
As for this game. if I'm going to pre-order it I'll probably buy direct. DRM-free installer + Steam key + same location as all my Humble Bundles + all the extras too + developer gets more of my money is a convincing argument, methinks.
