TomNook: Yeah, I expect I'll go with whichever is the cheapest in the end. But it'll also depend upon when Steam puts the pre-order up.
I don't work for Steam, so I could be wrong, but I don't think they're doing preorders of Legend of Grimrock.

EDIT: Because I can.

gyokzoli: On a second thought we need voting and reviews disabled only for previously unreleased games.
So that we have tons of "it was so awesome 10 years ago" when GOG pulls another I76, Betrayal at Antara or Earth 2140: Brain dead edition...

Yeah, you are probably right. The game is already gold and there is no sign of it on Steam.

Also, please get SubSoap on board, I know they already contacted you guys about their upcoming game, Faerie Solitaire 2.

Well, I was thinking about SpaceChem and Machinarium...

Hell yeah
The lack of automap will keep this game out of my grubby little hands.

I was under the impression that it has an automap.

I thought you could disable the automap if you wanted to, to create an old school feeling.
It is present though

You can turn automap feature on / off before starting a new game.
Edit: Ninja'd :)

If you pre-order directly from the developer, you get a Steam activation code. For me the main reason to do that would be so all (?) the money goes to the developer, but in GOG's case I'm very happy to see the distributor get a cut.

That certainly would make my decision easier. :)

The Grimrock blog made it sound like they were, and it is possible Steam will just take a bit longer.

That being said: It sounds like the pricing will be basically the same across the board (at GoG, Steam, and the dev's store), at least until after release when we start having super-sales.

Well on GoG I pay in dollars. Whereas on Steam I pay in sterling. :)

I'm one of the people Steam loves, but I am still grabbing the GoG release. I'll probably get it from Steam eventually (I do like achievements), but only when it is on a super-sale
