Dangerous developments in the dumpsters of disorder.

Deponia 2: Chaos on Deponia, the extravagant sequel anticipated by the fans of the cartoony point-and-click delight that was Deponia, is available for digital pre-order on GOG.com for only $13.99--that’s 30% off the full price, only during pre-orders! Or, if you’re the completionist type, you can even get both the original game and the sequel packed together with an amazing 40% discount!

The game picks up the story more or less where the previous game has ended. Once again we join the big-mouthed smartass Rufus and Goal, his love interest from the higher spheres of the planet, on their exciting journey through the landscapes of the trash-covered planet. After just recently saving the world from certain doom, our characters would seem to deserve some kind of a closure and a little time off, but the story forces them to take action against even more ominous menace threatening Deponia. And just to make things worse, Goal faces a serious identity crisis. It's not that she's not entirely herself, no. There's just much more of her then usual. Yup, it’s that serious!

Deponia 2: Chaos on Deponia brings back everything you loved about the first game and then it raises the bar even more. It's all there--the clever puzzles, the beautiful cartoony graphics, the top-notch voice acting, the brilliant humor, and the outstanding characters--but this time, it all feels even more vivid! You'll feel invested in the story and the protagonists as you explore the trash-covered world on the edge of chaos. Point-and-click adventurers, puzzle solvers, comedy fans! Don't miss out on this wonderful journey!

Pre-order Deponia 2: Chaos on Deponia now on GOG.com for only $13.99--that's 30% off the regular price--and prepare for yet another crazy ride across the Deponian junkyards. Or you can grab both Deponia games at once for a whopping 40% discount!

Mivas: It's possible to buy it directly from the developer. English version for 173.99 PLN. Daedalic wrote that they're DRM somewhere but I haven't found more specific information what does it mean.
Yeah, well, I was asking what's with Chains of Satinav on GOG.

Trilarion: Yes, they will. Already answered in Post 33. http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/release_deponia/post96

Leroux: Not quite. Currently it's just a matter of faith and trust. Not that I think badly of Daedalic and GOG but that post is more than a month old and it wouldn't be the first time that someone couldn't keep their promises due to unforeseen licensing issues. It may very well be that German and Russian language versions will be added. Or not. Your gamble, as long as we don't get an official statement from GOG.
The only language listed on the gamecard is English; might be an oversight, of course.

I thought it would be good to mention it here if someone wants to play it as soon as possible. I don't recall either GOG or Daedalic commenting on this game however voting for it can help. It has 60 votes right now.

See http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/release_deponia/post99
and http://www.gog.com/en/forum/general/release_deponia/post102

So there is an unconfirmed possibility that Chains of Satinav will appear DRM-free on GOG, but Satinavs Ketten (German original) won't, because it will probably remain a Steam exclusive thanks to Deep Silver's publishing schemes. I guess that's the downside of Germany being one of the last bastions of P&C adventures. :(

EDIT: I see line breaks are still broken ... GOG, please fix the forum software, that bug is really annoying!

Just curious but they made a sequel in just 5 months? That's really quick.

Tantrix: Blegh, you play games on German? What a hipster.
Another hipster, representing.

While I usually make a beeline for the english versions of games due to quality concerns with the German localisation, this time it's a game of German origin, so wanting to experience the "original" version is understandable.

That said, I think I prefer the english voices in Deponia 1. Strange how that goes sometimes. Will try both and see what works.

Hasn't it been actually longer for the original German release? At least from what I gathered from a German review it came out around the end of January/beginning of February, which would make more like ten months. Because of its semi-episodic trilogy nature I'd figure it wouldn't be as grand a project in comparison to a standalone adventure game.

Also, it's pretty likely that they've had much of the continued story and characters mapped out by the time they finished the first game, as well as the overall setting still being the same. That would definitely cut down on a lot of development time.
Awesome, good to see continuing new releases here, especially for adventure games.
Yes, Yes!

I just finished the first Deponia on Monday to knowing I can preorder the second in the same week and it is coming out soon and for only 11.99. So awesome.

DRM-free, too! Awesomer!
40% off is really tempting, but the lack of German language (despite Carsten's announcement) is a deal breaker for me. Why is it always such a confusing and annoying issue with multilanguage support here on GOG?
Looks good, but it isn't the end of the story since there's a third one that's either in the works or is out in Germany already. Plus, if I thought the Harvey & Edna price was bad, this is even worse. I still can't shake off the stuff I've read about the voice acting being rather subpar for Deponia 1 and worrying that it'll be the same with this one - Daedalic apparently has a thing with poor voice actor selections, I guess.

Maybe if I was a hardcore fan, or made of money, I wouldn't care about just buying everything that interests me. But I've got to pick and choose, even if it means missing out on what might be a good game. I'll likely wait until the third one comes out before making a final decision.

I'm sure this will get down voted by some white knights rushing to Daedalic's defence, but what I'm saying is genuinely how I feel. I really don't see why an indie developer should start raising their prices just because they've gotten popular. It's only milking the fans who kneejerk the latest game into their shopping cart.

I'm sorry if that sounds rude, but I'm rather frustrated and disappointed by this whole thing.

'Cause English is the coolest bro.

Deponia 2 just came out last month in Germany, it's brand new. And I don't get what point you are trying to make about the price. 20$ is not a lot compared to the work put into it and the rather niché market Point'n'Click games have. The Versions on Gog are even cheaper then buying it at the onlinestore of Deadalic. So at what point have they been "raising the prices"?

Kunovski: so, has the skipping audio/text in the first Deponia been fixed yet? without it I kind of can't finish it...
Check the downloads section for the game in your account. We released a few patches and language packs for the first Deponia :D
