The game picks up the story more or less where the previous game has ended. Once again we join the big-mouthed smartass Rufus and Goal, his love interest from the higher spheres of the planet, on their exciting journey through the landscapes of the trash-covered planet. After just recently saving the world from certain doom, our characters would seem to deserve some kind of a closure and a little time off, but the story forces them to take action against even more ominous menace threatening Deponia. And just to make things worse, Goal faces a serious identity crisis. It's not that she's not entirely herself, no. There's just much more of her then usual. Yup, it’s that serious!
