Can you imagine the Emperor as a deployable unit though?

"I've got a 10,000 point eldar army"
"I've just got the Emperor Of Mankind, you got another 30,000 points worth to field?"

GameRager: You know what I mean...take off the nostalgia goggles and fanboy hat and think for a moment. COD is claimed by many here to be the same "boring military corridor shooter" over and over again, yet Warhammer does the same thing and makes the same types of games(tabletop/pc) and story over and over and you guys buy it and call it wonderful. Sounds ironic in a way.

Delixe: Warhammer 40,000 is a time period and many many stories happen in it you do not need to advance the main backround to have new stories, you get new stories from Warhammer 40,000 all the bloody time just go to the Black Library and buy some of the books. It's not stagnant in any way if anything creative output from GW has increased over the years not decreased.

You are confusing the setting with the main story. You are fundamentally not understanding what Warhammer 40,000 is about.
Again you missed the point. The storyline, even in the time period of the WH reality, is always more of the same......god emperor still alive, man killing more aliens & jailing more heretics, etc ad nauseum.

Just like COD is called more of the same old corridor military shooter.

Hell a Primarch would be enough. Just Leman Russ, Freki and Geri against the whole Iyanden craftworld. My money is on Wolfboy.

chris.frukacz: Let's just talk about the game, this got very boring.

Get a pet rock and argue with it if you want GR.
I am having a healthy debate, and we can't all always agree on everything so stop trying to point out high tension when there is none.

Aliasalpha: (snip)
And I thought one Titan were bad enough when you whip it out on the table and jaws drop. That would be overkill.

GameRager: Dude, I can talk about the topic at hand like the others right? And also, i'm just trying to have conversation here.
avatar
Delixe: It would be nice if you could understand the topic you are adding to. I gave you a link to the Lexicanium go and read it.
I read some of it.......and still think my input is valid. Just because I don't knwo the names of all the primarchs or every branch of the imperium doesn't make me less of a WH "fan".

GameRager: = Um, because not evrything will be perfect anyways, things can happen, and conflict arisen. Also what's the point of the same old conflict/stagnancy in the universe?
The universe and main story of a god emperor is more a backdrop for all the other storys to take place. The Warhammer 40,000 universe is massive, it takes place across the entire galaxy with billions of planets and hundreads of trillions of people.

With that much scope you have the potential to tell many different storys and have many different games. The whole fluff and lore revolves around a constant war that has been going on for over 10,000 years with no end in sight. The whole idea is the hopeless struggles of mankind with enemys on all sides. So you end up with storys centered around planets and solar systems rather then progressing the overarching main plot.

So rather than take my advice to go and read and understand the setting you have decided to continue with your opinion. Can't say I am surprised. You know that World War 2? That's pretty lame we should add lasers and cloak technology to that to make it more interesting as it's got stale.
The only problem in the 40K universe is that the Eldar have teh biggest ships imaginable that can annihilate planets in minutes but they still opt to fight ground wars :D.

Oh stop trying to ad hominem in here and attack my credibility because I don't know everything about Warhammer. I know enough to think it needs changing, and that's again my opinion. I never said it was fact, yet you guys are charging on me like i'm some heretic or something who must be silenced.

That would be quite interesting:
WS, BS, S, T, etc.: over 9000
Special rules: Teh Emprah - you may offer a chance to surrender to your foe. If he refuses, you win anyways.

The Webway limits where they can deploy to. Some planets like the ones seen in Dawn of War only have small gates which means they can't get the bulk of their forces there. The Eldar do not use the Warp for FTL travel for obvious reasons.

Still, you shouldn't keep the main plot at a standstill forever, and why couldn't the current universe still have stuff made for it(as set in the past/etc when the old universe was still current) along with the new, with both universes having content made for them side by side?

If you think it needs changing then you don't know enough. End of. I don't go into threads about subjects I know little about and give my opinions on what needs changing.
