GameRager: I just posted about the star child, and it seems he can't become it while on the throne. Again, they need to disconnect him already if they even want that to happen.
Reborn Emperor might be a little bit upset about the Ecclesiarchy (and the E might not like it either), since his goal was to remove all religions, yet they worship him as a god.

EDIT: typo

That's how it works: tabletop drives everything else. And that is as much as game devs @ GW care about "other W40K fans". If you don't understand, go read fanfic or something that will break lore/fluff.

Delixe: I mentioned them and you know. They might be WRONG. The Inquisition will not take the risk. That's the in-story reason.

As chris.frukacz points out the real reason is that they want to keep selling Warhammer 40,000 and they won't do that by advancing the story. Ynnead and The Star Child will never be born, Cypher will never reach Lion El Johnson, Ghazghull will never unite the clans and Eldrad will never be confirmed dead.
So it's all about greed? Nice.

And tabletop shouldn't have as much of a hold as it does on the universe.......they could change things and still make the fans happy and sell their precious action figures to what amounts mainly to manchildren(the hardline collectors not all tabletop players)

If his will is so strong why doesn't he sense what's going on, flatline himself somehow through his will/magic/etc and rebirth himself?

Some of his storyline makes him seem all powerful, while other parts make him sound like a senile will/mind/old man.

If they have the end times when the Primarchs return, The Emperor is reborn, Ynnead rises and defeats Slaanesh, The Harlequins rescue Isha from Nurgle, Mork and Gork act through Ghazgull and unite the Ork race and everyone goes on to live a happy life in a United Federation of Planets then Warhammer 40,000 is over. What's the point?

Um, because not evrything will be perfect anyways, things can happen, and conflict arisen. Also what's the point of the same old conflict/stagnancy in the universe?

Congratulations you have completely missed the point of Warhammer 40,000. Have a cookie.

No I haven't...it was good for awhile but it can't be good forever, even to fans. I've seen you and others complain about COD stagnating, yet Warhammer does the same bloody thing nearly.

For how long? Everything gets boring and overplayed at some point.

I'm sorry, I am still laughing at the idea of you comparing Call of Duty to Warhammer 40,000.

For that matter they should make a sequel to Lord of the Rings.
Gah, W40K started off as tabletop fluff and it will remain that way. Manchild? Do you have any hobbies? Golf? Chav with club and manchild! What an argument!

Of course for some reason Warhammer has been more or less the same since 1987 yet it did not die...

You know what I mean...take off the nostalgia goggles and fan hat and think for a moment. COD is claimed by many here to be the same "boring military corridor shooter" over and over again, yet Warhammer does the same thing and makes the same types of games(tabletop/pc) and story over and over and you guys buy it and call it wonderful. Sounds ironic in a way.

Dude, I can talk about the topic at hand like the others right? And also, i'm just trying to have conversation here.

I never said it should not be tabletop anymore....just that the storyline has stayed stagnant for quite some time.

Also I didn't want to use harsher terms and didn't know a more nicer one than manchild? Geek maybe?

Warhammer 40,000 is a time period and many many stories happen in it you do not need to advance the main backround to have new stories, you get new stories from Warhammer 40,000 all the bloody time just go to the Black Library and buy some of the books. It's not stagnant in any way if anything creative output from GW has increased over the years not decreased.

You are confusing the setting with the main story. You are fundamentally not understanding what Warhammer 40,000 is about.
Let's just talk about the game, this got very boring.

Get a pet rock and argue with it if you want GR.

It would be nice if you could understand the topic you are adding to. I gave you a link to the Lexicanium go and read it.
