Murphy's Law - I just wasted about five minutes of time posting a two paragraph response and for the first time ever I forgot to highlight and copy my entire post before submitting - I didn't publish.

Just thought I would make note here for the site techs.

I think your note would reach them better if you sent an email to support; threads on the forum sink based on time and lack of activity.
also: GOGBears ate it.
LETS SACRIFICE LICURG!

When that happens, close the tab/page and try again or wait until it fixes itself. It's not something easily repeatable that they can detect and fix.

Sachys: LETS SACRIFICE LUCURG!
Who is Lucurg? And why would we sacri... oh, I see...
This has been happening to me frequently. Once a couple weeks ago, I was trying to edit a post and tried over FIVE times, yet each time I hit "Post my message" the same old, unedited post would remain. So it's happened trying to post a new post, as well as trying to edit an existing post.

Usually it happens to me when I try responding to someone.

(The irony right now is sickening)

It just doubled.

Cock, this just happened to me in another thread, now that's just plain ironic.

What it does for me sometimes is that the reply just keeps trying to post but never does. I find i can fix the problem by instead of replying, just make a new post.
I've noticed if you have a problem with your tags, the post might not get through. For example, you've got (i) but no (/i)
Consolidating posts you are replying to is vulnerable to human error in these fora, as in ending in limbo and not posting. Plus the overall system is not very intuitive to my mind either, so I normally just regurgitate (dump) my responses as a single reply at the bottom.

Pay attention to coherence of opening and ending replies to the right form, and if you note that your post is processing indefinitely, you can probably still copy it and post it to note-pad or such like to tally your quotes to cancel and re-post.

Now the odd thing is: I'm pretty sure that when I joined GOG formatting errors would result in a popup or something and you'd get a chance to fix your post. IIRC all these serious issues with formatting errors only began after a certain point when they made some changes to the software running the forums.

I think I remember that, too. Now the best course of action is probably to install Barefoot Essentials, which has a live preview of the post and reports errors.

Then again, even the forum itself introduces errors at times, especially with nested quotes.

Would have been funny if everyone had ignored this topic up to a point where the OP was wondering if what he posted really got published.
