Hey guys!

We'll to bring it to GoG too :) Steam will probably come first, but hopefully only weeks, not months.

As for the updates, I know it's been way too long coming, but now we've more or less finished all the updates to to the game, we can work on retooling it for GoG (we really want to make sure all the new mods coming via Steam workshop still work with the GoG versions, hence why it's not quite a copy and paste job, as we need to remove the Steam code). Also we hope to have controller support ready for the GoG launch too, but if that's going to drag on longer than we hope we'll push the updates before that's ready, and patch it in later.

Thanks for baring with us! We love GoG, it's harder than you think for a small team like us to handle more than one build at a time. We also added an in game achievement system just for you guys, so you can get all the same pointless rewards the Steam guys get.

One bonus to all this is, because you're getting all the updates at the same time, you're getting the best experience, it's fair to say we hit a few problems with the ongoing updates that many poor people on Steam had to endure.

On a final note, this will be an free roaming, open world expansion, not linear like AW.
Thank you, folks at RWS, I really appreciate all the work you continue to put in. :)
This is especially nice to hear:

I hope this means that I can try to make it through the expansion without killing anyone, doing that is always a fun challenge for me in the base game.

"Now it's finally time to announce officially that POSTAL 2 is growing again! No this isn't just more new content for you to enjoy while playing the classic POSTAL 2 and it isn't just a holiday themed new content. It's a whole new thing! RWS is proud to announce POSTAL 2: PARADISE LOST, a brand new expansion to our world renowned game! That's right, you asked us to do it, and we are actually listening! A brand shining new expansion that is being made in-house and best of all the development has already started! The estimated time of release for PARADISE LOST is Fall 2014."
The last big Postal 2 update first arrived for Steam a year ago. They announced 6 months later in December it was coming here, then nothing. Months later they said someone dropped the ball and it just didn't get done but they were working on it again and just about done. That was 3+ months ago IIRC and well... no word since that I'm aware of. ;o/

Maybe they'll add GOG Galaxy support to it first.

Looking forward to the updates when they do land, but wondering if Duke Nukem will be hand delivering them to us. ;oP

Also, I have to say... An authentic Postal 4 is totally in order, whether as a sequel, remake, reboot or whatever. There just aren't enough truly violent games out there and the Postal games are in the winner's circle when it comes to pointless violence with humour. I hope Postal 4 comes to GOG also. ;oP

We are aiming for this, yeah!

Looking forward to it! A positive to the Steam version is how it helped fund this expansion for both Steam and GOG, I assume. :)

Thanks for the info. I remember in an FAQ on the Steam forums it was said that there may be Steam only features for Postal 2. Is this still true or will the GOG version eventually be the same version as that on Steam?

Also, it appears achievements are coming to GOG with GOG Galaxy, so if it's not too much work you may be able to add that then. :)

Thanks again!

Yes, having Galaxy support integrated into the game would be cool too, whether in the big update or at some later date. Kind of early for us to expect or them to commit to it as it isn't even available yet mind you. :)
@Rakuru

The only thing missing from the DRM free build (which, I'm testing right now ready to submit to GoG) are Steam only features, so cloud, workshop, online achievements.

However, as said before we've already integrated an in game achievement system into P2 for the DRM free versions. As soon as we learn more about Galaxy we will use as many features as we can for it. And also, all Steam workshop items can be easily repackaged for manual install into the GoG version, as we've left the new modding system in place. It's as close to the Steam version as it can be for now.

Thanks! I was much more worried about in-game content like missions or content packs or that kind of thing. Platform-specific features I don't care as much about, but it's awesome that you're going above and beyond by packaging some of that stuff in-game.

I may have to pick up a copy of this game soon! It's great to see developers that are so on top of supporting a game across all of its platforms, not to mention one that's 11 years old. Looking forward to see what the future brings. :)

It blows my mind to hear you say that for a game that is over 11 years old to be adding various content like this and now adding modern game features and even considering adding similar features for a new service backend (Galaxy) that isn't even out yet and we're not completely sure what all features it will have. LOL That's way ahead of the majority of other games/companies out there for current-gen games!

Ok, here are some half serious half kidding questions just for laughs...

- Any chances of adding support for 4k/8k displays in the future or multi-monitor setups like Eyefinity?

- Any chances of adding support for Oculus Rift and/or other up and coming VR systems?

- Any chances of adding support for the TrackIR head tracker for peeking left, right, look up/down etc?
http://www.naturalpoint.com

- Any chances of adding support for a PC-connected Mattel Powerglove?

- 30bpp (10 bit per channel colour support) or 64bit floating point pixel support? (yeah, crazy but hey why not! hehe)

It would be great to hear any serious or pure humourous answers to these from you guys, and mind blowing if the answer was "yes, definitely!" to any of them hehehe.

Speaking of which... does anyone else have any fun serious or humourous suggestions that are actually something technically possible that are a little out there that I missed?

It'd be funny to see the game continue to evolve and get new features, tech and expansions/etc. for another 10-20 years. :) Hopefully profitably too! :)
Has there been any update on GOG's version of Postal 2 by any chance?
